What To Play While We Wait

(Achtung) #1

OK if your like me and Brink is your No. 1 game you are waiting for. Especially if your a ET fan and a half an ass like me then you to may have been checking gametrailers or your local shops for the retail stores and have been planning a Sept 7 2010 release and not looked any further into it until a couple weeks before so…

Now that we know the horrible truth what on earth are you going to play while you wait for it?

Me, regretfully, prestiged MW2 for an eight time still thinking that if Wolf ET and COD guns were there i could have the perfect game. Instead of course they just keep adding mass market noob guns like auto shotguns ect.

So I need something new!

Perhaps Medal of Honor next month, and Black Ops after that. But waitin for a new Splash Damage game makes them seem pretty lame lol.

Thankfully Gran Turismo 5 is nearly here or i dont think i’d make it to the Brink release.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood & Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam.

(Feelgood) #3

I will be playing MoH and Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam when they come out. I have a sort of personal boycott going with Black Ops. I was looking forward to it, til lI saw what Treyarch was doing. They promised dedi servers and are only giving semi dedi servers. They are not releasing the public server files. They setup a monopoly with GameServers to provide their MP servers exclusively. I do not like being shorted by a developer or being told where I MUST do business by a developer. So…

Cod Black Oops

And EA were are any better?

If you’re sick of crappy PC ports stop buying them. Spend your cash supporting developers who support the PC fully. Buy and play L4D2! It’s down to $20 FFS! Buy indie titles and show the startup developers that PC gamers do buy games and that there is a market there for them, that they don’t need to constrain their designs to consoles just to make a buck or do dumb ***** like p2p online, no server distrib and using backward DRM.

To answer the OP. I’ll be playing Minecraft, L4D2 and the massive back catalogue of games I have on Steam.

Civilization V, Starcraft2 and Quake Live.

(tokamak) #6

Starcraft 2 will keep you busy. The game oozes quality. I’m not a RTS fan, but this is just amazing.

Minecraft, best game in years

I was also waiting to play Brink. I’m tired of all the military style game like COD, Bad Company so I might pass on MoH. Developers don’t make games like back in the days. Its quantity over quality. I think I will be playing back RDR all over because that game was done with class. The other game I really wanted to play was " Max Payne 3" but that also get delay.

(Seanza) #9

Easy question! The answer is ETQW.

(dazman76) #10

I’ve been doing just that! Having fun again too - although mixed with some genuine blonde moments. Still haven’t made the switch to Pro yet, but very tempted  Quite a bit of fun to be had on Oh My Strogg, Stupidoz etc. - although sometimes it really does fall apart. Well, at least the servers are full enough to make a few entertaining games

(Senethro) #11

Civilization 5, Starcraft 2, Minecraft, Hat Fortress 2.

(abnorm) #12

+1 :stroggbanana:

(EnderWiggin.DA.) #13

-I’ve been playing Doom 3 SP which I bought during the Qcon sale so I’ll finish that.
-I’ll probably get the Borderlands Claptrap DLC if my friends get it.
-I’ll get the BC2 Vietnam DLC if it’s reasonably priced for only 4 !@#$ING maps 8-9 months after the game’s release. I understand the technical issues DICE created for themselves but they really messed up the support of BC2.
Other than that, I guess I’m waiting for 2011 and the long list of awesomeness that is supposed to be released next year. MoH looks like MW2. No thanks. I’m done with CoD until they show me something different.

RTCW ET ETQW Wolfenstein. The big 4 games that precede Brink.

Even though Wolfenstein sucked hard balls, it is still in there. Why? Because Brink will have iron sights and one spot planting. So better get used to that game as well.

I know some of you might call it the Big Three, with Wolfenstein not making the cut, then again, people don’t count the NHL as one of the Big Four, rather it be the Big Three (NBA, NFL, MLB), but in actuality, the NHL is considered one of the major sports leagues because of popularity, and Wolfenstein is considered one of the games in the series despite people saying it shouldn’t count because of its failures is because Wolfenstein has stopwatch.

Rambling over.

(Slade05) #15

Hidden&Dangerous.

The best czech game ever.

(signofzeta) #16

Oh to continue from my previous post.

RTCW to get used to 4 classes
ET to get used to the stand beside vehicle to move it objective
ETQW to get used to the futuristic feel
Wolfenstein to get used to the one spot planting

For me it’s one of three games.

World of Warcraft
Bad Company 2
Quake Wars

Though I do have to admit I bought and played Halo at a friends house. I didn’t beat it while there, was only there for about 8 hours, but I think we got pretty far in, when I left I left the game there as I don’t have an xbox. As far as Halo games go, it is in my opinion definitely the best, and coming from me thats surprising, I hate Halo. The only real thing I have to complain about is the AI in the game. We played on Legendary and it seemed like the bot AI for friendlies declined with the difficulty setting. Whenever there was a warthog that had to be driven, we had to drive it and couldn’t sit in the gunner seat otherwise the AI driving it would either go nowhere, or drive in reverse, or take 3+ minutes to make any turn. It was ridiculous.

I’ll probably play Civ 5, but i’m confused by the concept of this thread. I make time to play games that i like, i don’t assign time to play games that i hopefully will like.

How about watching a movie while waiting? And how about watching a Terry Gilliam movie while you’re watching a movie anyway? And how about watching Brazil since you are watching a Terry Gilliam movie anyway? Seriously, i think more people should realize how ing awesome Brazil is. It’s like saying ' you reality, i’d be better than you, even without Robert De Niro in me.’
