What themes should new ET-mods have?

Personally I would like to see some kind of fantasy- or ancient-styled mod.
Like the melee mod that was mentioned some time ago here in the forums.

I voted on mods for these times. We got some WWII now. Maybe another good idea would be a mod for ET with stuff from ET:QW (don’t think SD will be happy with that…).

imo mod leaders need to look outside the clasic ideas if they are going to make something new and exiting

and isnt it about time a mod otuside a fps was though about? super smash borthers style battle in full 3D built on ET!

i want a superhero mod …
two “forces” fighting eachother…each class with sepcial abiltites… one can fly, one can spit fire, one breath ice, x-ray vision… ultra speed, ultra strength… etc etc… should be plenty of inspiration to get from the marvels and other comics…

and wild west…yes, im waiting for that one too…the RTCWversion is really funny…

I personally can’t see what any of them have to do about gameplay, that’s the only thing that concerns me, you want aliens? pretend they are, I like mods that fix bugs, game engine exploits, optimise game code better, things that even out gameplay so uber leet comps don’t have massive advantage over slower boxes, just my opinion though

To me Wild Wild West was a fake full conversion mod. It didn’t really change the gameplay… all it did was place the action in the wild west instead of during the war. The change was purely cosmetic for me and that’s all. Now take the likes of ETF, that completely changed the way the game is played, it didn’t resemble ET at all, and it’s that type of full conversion mod i like… and what a bonus to have a feeling of getting 2 games for free instead of one.

So to some up, i don’t care what kind of theme is used, as long as it’s not just a purely cosmetic change. Can’t remember where i heard this saying, but it seems to fit - “dress a fiddler in a tuxedo, and he still plays the same old tune”

wild west instead of during the war.

i have to disagree there. although the core gameplay was very close to rtcw for me the reduced movement speed and rifle dominated combat changed the entire way the game had to be played. although it was relitivly small change it affect the game in a massive way

Also the removal of the PF and support fire is a pretty big change from RTCW.

Wild west is very clearly based on RTCW, but it changed a whole lot more than just a skin/voice pack.

As for what I would want in a mod… I don’t really care. It could be Tapirs vs. Rainbow Equines, as long as the game play is good.

I like mods that are based on other games (option wasn’t available so i voted WW2)
Great old games, like Blood, (horror/humor) Worms, (humor) Alien vs Predator(humans vs predators) and/or Shadow Warrior (action/humor)
Plenty options there. =)

i voted for todays wars. future or sci-fi would be great too. ww2 only if it would enhance the regular ET gameplay with something like a new gamemode like dm or tdm.

ET is my favorite ww2 shooter i dont like the other ones at all.

Fantasy games where you would have amazing powers like becoming invisable teleporting seeing things trough walls (Well that mod is already invented :stuck_out_tongue: ) transforming into a giant, bashing other players, amazing ninja moves with swords… No long range weapons, short range combat on tiny maps… That kind of stuff… I guess it’s a bit tooo much.
