What the rationality behind the PR silence?
sigh he flings poo… I’ll take that as you being inept at rational thought and just generally being a whinger. I’m glad you don’t have anything else to say

And it’s a forum, discussions happen… if you don’t want anyone to comment on your thoughts or opinions, then you’re in the wrong place pal… deal with it.
lol, the forum bully strikes back…
No wonder noone cares anymore to debate with you. What’s the point talking to a verbal narcissist?

(Ashog) #42

We don’t believe you

Maybe we can make a case study of “Interstellar Marines”. They talk more about making their game than actually making it.

You’re just butthurt (brutthurt?) cos I know more about movie making than you do, go back to fraps.com  But yeah if you’re using Oschino as your arguing point, then you’re a bigger idiot than I thought… and I already thought you were a massive idiot so that’s saying something

All you’ve done in this thread is insult anyone that replies to you.

Where’s the insult in this reply? The replies to this post were insults in themselves, and anything beyond just contributed… excuse me for retorting, but oh well.

(Is this one classed as an insult as well? Seems some people need thicker skin )

Nah you’re right, I should be the bigger person here. Those that don’t have the capacity to get their point across in a civilized manor and the only position they can take is that of a flamebait troller should be ignored. I’m grasping onto the days when users welcomed debate, and the ADD poster that didn’t want their opinion contested simply didn’t exist. Those times were mainly filled with the PC generation, it seems these days it’s the console users that simply detest the fact that someone can disagree with them.

Granted I’m casting too wide a net with that comment, I’ve had some great discussions with a few console players… but like any platform there are those that let the side down in a fantastic way.

I don’t want to fuel any fires here but the influx of console players since Brink’s launch really dragged this place down (and the game down with it)

Of course PC players are complaining too and a lot of console players are happy with Brink and really contribute to this board, but fkme, Brink hasn’t half attracted some idiots to a PC centric game; it’s just another reminder that Brink shoulda started as a PC only title before the console players were caught up in the hype and came on here, crying their eyes out expecting it all on a plate.

We know you’re **** at the game, that doesn’t make it bad

There’s always exceptions to both rules but the biggest problem Brink has faced since launch is ignorance and I hate to say it, PC gamers generally have a much more open mind on matters. We know Brink needs fixing but it’d be nice to go back to being civil about it
You don’t want to confuse auto-statements from “community managers” with communication or interaction from the devs. The community managers are just doing what they were hired to do… manage you.

Myself, I sometimes feel a bit neglected when a “provider” attempts to manage me in such a way. I pretty much find the entire notion of a “community manager” insulting, often times.

“So, this person(s) is to be a filter between the devs and us?” That’s how it comes of a lot of the time.
I do understand that they feel they need a professional in a position dedicated to ensuring that company PR policy is followed and maintained to the letter, cutting down on undesirable instances that can result from unfavorable interaction with the community.
However, intended purposes and negative residual effects of this managing system should both be anticipated, and the latter always seems to get dismissed.

–No one wants to always see any devs, considerate enough to interact with the community, being tight-lip’d about every other topic of interest within the community. Crap gets annoying.
–No one wants to have ALL of their information on the game come filtered through some seemingly half-clueless dork who’s never written a single line of code or QA’d a single element for the game.
–And when even the little CM goes silent, it just out right frustrates the hell out of players.
--People want transparency and sincere interaction between the devs and the community, not the azz-crappy kind of situation that the existence of Community Managers usually brings about.
–Just keep your development sincere, and your devs informed and certified for community interaction (ex. distinguishing between “their” individual opinions and those of the company in their statements) and things would be fine. If they can’t talk about something, allow them to openly say so and why.

crap… I’m tldr ranting again… :o
tl;dr
