At the moment, I have nothing fun to do in DB. Just seems like “Find a match, kill people, win or lose, repeat 3 times” which isn’t really fun for me. I want to play but there’s nothing for me to do because there is no advanced progression system either and the current one has no rewards tied to it.
So what motivates you to keep playing?
I’m slowly getting to that point too. I need 3 more mercs, I am level 19 and just do the quests and then quit. The more I play, the more the same it becomes.
Devs need to release maps and game modes real soon. New mercs don’t cut it.
Fletcher and his sticky bombs. I enjoy the satisfaction that I get from getting a “STUCK +10XP”. I chuckle every time I send them to their explosive demise.
Also: If I actually had a comp team right now, I would be doing comp every day. Road to Elite, am I right @spookify
I am motivated by the team behind this game, they strive every day to make this game better and to hopefully one day push it into a full release. The problem you face is that this game is still in beta, and as a result the content has not reached it’s full potential. An obvious solution to this could be take a break, if you’re getting bored of the game it can greatly impact your decision to play it once it gets an official release and then it’s hard to get back into it. I’d say stay in touch with the game(i.e. keep up with news and watch the forums for possible updates), maybe play a match or two a day with friends to keep your credits high enough to buy new stuff they add, but most importantly just find the little things to have fun with.
I still have a few mercs that I haven’t played long enough to decide whether I like them. But I’m getting there. I’ve started playing about a six weeks ago, clocked ~200h, so I may have slightly overdosed DB 
Right now I’m sure it will have a 1h slot every day in the coming months. New mercs coming out will certainly help that.
I play it with friends and we have a friendly rivalry that will always keep me interested. Maybe now with the new anti-cheat I may try comp out so there’s that to keep me hooked.
I enjoy murdering people and then being called all sorts of names.
I also play with friends and you’d be amazed what playing with people you know will do for a game, tight knit communities when?
Spent over 150 hours in the game. I’m not a hardcore gamer, and that’s why I still enjoy the game. It’s fast paced, and i’m playing in front of my 50" tv.
Nothing is more enjoyable than flanking opponents and cut some pieces of pizza out of them with Phantom’s huge pizza slicer. 
I enjoy the thrill of mercilessly slaughtering all who oppose me. No, but for real this game has taken some of my most played steam games, and combined their elements while still creating a totally new experience. It’s challenging, it’s fast, and it’s downright fun. I might have only played about 50 hours but I’ve enjoyed every bit of it, sure it’s a work in progress but it is really good for it being that. If you feel like its getting boring I would recommend just taking a couple days to a week, to play something else.
To get better at the game. Thats my motivation for almost all games. Get better, learn more about the game and so on.
I must agree with OP, the game has lost its charm, especially after the latest update where you either play crotzni or you’re outgunned everytime on a 1vs1. With the recoil and spread pattern reduced to its bare minimum, all weapons have lost their identity and it’s just about raw damage stats now. Worse is that the spread for ADS shots is now worse then without. Just pathetically uninteresting. I’m feeling like MW2 where UMP was the only played weapon because it was the strongest with lowest spread and recoil. Crotzni is doing the same. I just hope they don’t look to Titanfall’s side and come up with their own version of the smart pistol…
To sum up, nothing gets me to play this game anymore. I used to have fun, and the new AC doesn’t compensate for all the wrong chances they made in this update. I’m going to turn my head to overwatch for now and if their is any indication that they’re balancing it better I might sneak a peak, but for now I’m done. 200h is all I managed before they made this game too noob friendly. What a shitty curse to need to attract the masses…

That might be what they stated, but the crotzni is the most linear shooting smg in the game right now. Tried them all yesterday and it’s the most precise right now. No matter what they stated.
