Vanilla or fast version?
What kind of official level or map that you want in BRINK?
well, both did work. but volcano vanilla will always remain my fav. map of etqw together with perhaps sewer.
What was that map called where there was a bunch of constructable fences on a base near a beach? I can only vaguely remember it.
Agreed, volcano is cool and I like both versions.
Most of the maps Chris mentioned were not suited for matches, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t enjoyable on pubs. As such I consider none of the maps bad apart from slipgate and outskirts because I simply don’t like them.
Canyon and Quarry are still the best dogfighting maps imo.

They not suited for pub either in my opinion, played vanilla yesterday for 2 campaigns, fairly even teams, was terrible for me, some may like them but I don’t.
Most of the maps that weren’t MCP based I liked, having said that Refinary’s last stage is brilliant for indoor sniping.
i want an indoor map. where you can also use the walls like wet.
only offcourse then different.
and climb on balconys to give height advantage…
yet i dunno yet, i have no clue yet
how brinks plays out.
I wish to see a vertical map. Most of the PFS offers you a horizontal map with lands, houses and such.
Since Brink is in an urban setting why not a vertical level really small on the “horizontal surfface”, but with many many stage, that you can acces by stairs or elevators…
Could be a fresh breeze…
Well, I dunno about official levels that I’d like to see but I can tell you now that I will definitely be mapping for this game (if possible)
My idea for a level would be;
The Resistence have found and captured an abandoned off-shore oil rig where they want to take advantage of the remaining containers of oil for fuel. This will be a night attack using dinghies/helicopters and stealth for the Security (This is ofcourse if there are dinghies in the game :)).
This would make for some cool gameplay as there could be a number of ways to get on the oil rig…for example;
The scout type must activate a power switch for the landing pad. This would be bad news for the Resistence as a helicopter could bring many Security dudes into a small area and thus disrupt other areas of the rig where the Resistence are guarding.
There really are tons of cool ideas for this level and all the assets are available to build from but I’m sure SD have thought of something similar to this already. Either way, I plan to play this map in the future.

like a highrise? I think that could be cool. It may work on paper, but let us see how it works out in the game.
some maps with document-running at the last stage would be really nice. always loved these maps in rtcw / w:et and etqw.
well yes you can run and climb towards higher tactical advantage points, slide your way in.
so to me it could be all naturally too use/abuse the walls also too get my kill.
If you play one kind of way for each map, then you will feel like that with most maps. I win Quarry more than I do Outskirts for example probably with around a 70% win rate on GDF. It is perfectly designed for the Anansi to take over the match with alittle communication to defend the 3rd cell it can be impossible for strogg to win.
Even though I try to balance my team out with the tools to win Outskirts, I have a really hard time as GDF on that map. Probably because I play a pretty bad medic and have poor teamwork abilities. Each map has something to it in ETQW, they’re not imbalanced just require different skill sets to win games.
i want good map design. bright & shiny with distinguishable components in it. i don’t want anything of the “cool” stuff like:
depressing colors (this is why wolf failed for me, i didn’t even want to touch that game because every single map looked so depressing):

or artificial annoyingly disturbing silhouettes around my view:

or information overflow like this where you don’t see anything, realism sucks in games (if i’d want realism i’d join the army):

i want bright & shiny fun to play maps like this:

i think i’m gonna like Brink’s airport map
this may be considered ridiculous but how about backported maps from beloved ETQW ?
of course wihout IP violation and downsized a bit[and w/o vehicles]depend engine/platform limitations.
The mod community won’t have any technical problems with that I guess. But it would be a bit of a set back as you’re playing maps that haven’t been designed with SMART in mind. People will just vault over the volcano walls for example.
