What is your favorite class and why?

(Vengeance) #1

Just curious on which class people enjoy playing most, have you changed from a class you always played in W:ET to a class you never ever thought you would play ever and if so why?

Im still undecided what class i like the most, i really enjoy the medic but i really love the engineer with the turrets and mines, and of course there is the covert ops where you get the warm fuzzy feeling inside when you stab um good.

soo, anyway what class does it for you?

I don’t have a fav yet, but 2 classes I never played in ET were F.O. and Soldat. F.O. because I would always end up tk’in half my team w/ airstrikes/arty, and panzer seemed too easy of a kill to me. In ETQW tho, arty rockets lock-on and RLs are needed for vehicles and turrets.

(gloowa) #3

when strogg - tehnican - thinkof axis rambo medic
when gdf - solder + panzaaaa XD

(zivs) #4

If Strogg - Technician / Infiltrator
If GDF - Covert Ops

If you’d know how fun is to disguise as opponent and then stab half of their team…

(Gringo) #5

Fudge that, i prefer not to be covert and run up behind people and stab em!

(zivs) #6

Like you could do that anyway… :tapir:

(extraordinary) #7

medic / technician is the best combat class in the game. i can get lvl 4 light weapons with it and almost lvl 4 battlesense.

(criminal) #8

strogg technician…and gdf engy…both are point whores

(murka) #9

strogg opressor, i just pound an arty in the gdf foward spawn and boom. record for this is 7 but my clanmate got 9.

No favorite yet, but I start out as GDF soldier (with a rocket launcher) and destroy the barricade - I can’t believe how many times I have joined late only to find the barricade up.

Once the barricade is down we have been driving the Titan right in next to the disrupter and hammering the Strogg harassing our engineers - until a cyclops comes over and takes us out.

I try to damage/destroy every Strogg deployable I can see, when my rockets are gone I defend the engys at the disrupter.

If they get it built I am already the right class to make a run for the sewer grates, if they are having a hard time I switch to engineer, deploy something useful and head for the disrupter.

As a Strogg I play as constructor and fix anything that gets damaged including my own deployables.

If there are a lot of spawnhosts near the sewer controls I will change to medic and try and destroy those.

I stay away from field ops because most players will not get out of the way of an air strike on deployables and wind up getting TK’d as the run thru.

Well, I’ve played every class except for the medic. I feel I can’t keep up with teh responsibility of being a good medic and reviving all the folks. Engie is still my favorite, although I’ve been playing a lot more Cov ops, Field ops and Soldier on both sides.

One thing that people seem to forget is that even though GDF control the forward spawn, it’s still a good idea to spawn at the main spawn, just for the vehicles. It’s nice to take the tank up the high side and disable the APTs and AATs. A tank by the EMP can also clear out the strogg technicians and tripmines, and cause all sorts of confusion on the unsuspecting strogg team.

I’d like to be able to load the armored carrier with a couple of soldiers, a medic and a couple of engies and drive it to the back by the emp. It’d be nice to establish a perimeter and give the engies a nice safe minute that it takes to build it.

Overall I am noticing a lot more cooperation and talk amongst the players. (than I did in WolfET) Artillery drops are coordinated with Field ops, Covert ops are deploying radars as needed, and medics are calling in for the drops.

Shit, I’m offtopic. So, I guess whereas in WolfET I’ve always played engie, now I do more Field ops, and I switch classes as needed as well. (Provided there are enough competent engies, who call in and maintain the deployables.)

I wouldn’t worry about that, if you make a even a vague effort to revive/heal your team, you’ll be doing better than many of the current ones

(obsidian) #13

Favourite class is whatever my team needs to help get the objective. Seriously. Every match, I’ll change classes on average about 3 times to whatever seems to be lacking at the moment.

(Mordenkainen) #14

My favourite classes in W:ET are Covert Ops followed by Engineer. In ETQW they are Engineer followed by Soldier.

But I’ll play any class that’s needed in that moment.

(bobjones) #15

yeah, same for me.

but if i had my choice, i really like playing technician.
it’s nice not having to rely on anyone, and i enjoy keeping teammates alive.

(Lee) #16

For me when outdoors (to build emp)

i will be a soldier with a RPG then when indoors il switch to using the shotgun or GPMG

although when firing the GPMG people seem to have a habit of walking straight infront of it when im trying to kill someone thus killing them and then they file a complaint against me :expressionless:

i will sometimes be a medic mainly for the EMP or sewage hack to keep people alive

(iwound) #17

I’m lovin covert atm, dropping the hidden camera and watching what strogg get up to when they think no ones looking lol.

Never get tired of when strogg spot the camera but don’t know what it is and move in for a closer look.
Mouse 1 gives them all the info they need on the matter.

You know it’s just so great that each class has so much stuff to do and all of these fun tactics that you can develop for yourself. It’s crazy you’ll play a whole few days as covert and then get bored and be like omg there are still 4 other classes to play! Just makes it so damn fun. Love this game.

(NewbCity32) #19

My favorite class would be Medic, and C.O. I like medic because when you attack and get injured really bad, just heal your self with packs!
I like C.O because I like to get my TMs through AXIS-Only doors and navigate through enemy territory undetected!
