Any wepaon in that screen soldiers can pick up!
The Thompson/MP40 are their specificlly to remind you and probably makes the coding easier… their are many situations after firing my 4 panzers and there are no FOps around that I crouch over a discarded MP40 and give myself a different gun.

The only purpose of this combo is to identify newbs.
This way, when they file on friendly fire accidents, tk half the team with a grenade, block your doorways, gib your teammates’ corpses, or spam chat, you know “Hey, they aren’t just being an a$$hole; they’re a newbie!”
i honestly think that it is so when a soldier runs out of ammo he can pick one up and use it until he finds another heavy weap. atleast that makes sense to me
