what happened yesterday?
Maybe total biscuit or another big name youtube reviewer got their hands on this game. The youtube scene has been growing pretty delightfully.
Looking at the timeframe I would assume its from everyone login / relogin to get the free cases reward (I certainly did that ^^ ). Still 10k unique people that still care enough to follow the news is pretty nice.
I’m sure it as something to do with the youtuber FrankieonPCin1080p. He post a video yesterday with already 450k views.
thx @astuteDivision . What I particularly like about the stats is the stabilized player counts over the last week. At the beginning of open beta we saw a spike + drop (to be expected), but playerbase stabilized pretty quickly… for now
i dont think it was so widely heralded; plus you only had to login, so surely people would just login and go away?

Maybe everyone wanted to show off their shiny new cards?
God knows, but I suspect the majority of those additional players are the same useless ones I’ve been running into all day.
Good plan though, make a skill based shooter, then flood it with F2P kids that are beyond rubbish.

yup, cause its up to the developers to hand-pick players for their own game

Even CS:GO has very poor players.

This is exactly correct. Devs can’t pick who plays. However with the steep learning curve a lot of the extremely poor players cycled out by now.

Yeah, because skill brackets are obviously too difficult to implement. The bad players get owned by the good ones and whine about hacks, the good ones lose interest because the quality of matches is very poor.

Are you talking about competitive or casual at this point?
Competitive has a ranking system, but a LOT of people are either unranked or getting matched against unranked players. It doesn’t help that pre-mades can be paired against solos.
Casual will never have a rank system in place for quickjoin/server browser. Casual is for jumping in and out of a match and has a lot of variable in skill level.

Does it matter? I am not just talking about players that aren’t quite so good, I am talking about players that never give ammo, never revive, ignore the objectives, can’t aim, barely manage a few kills per match and number in the thousands. There is literally nothing you can do when you get 3-4 of them on your team, which has been very common today. It is usually bad, but today it has been insane. I have not had a match today that didn’t have at least 6 really, really, really bad players, and only a small handful of them were level 1 (which is fair enough).
I would rather play with bots on my team instead of some of these players. I swear most of them are using a potato to aim instead of a mouse. At least now I am willing to agree that this game does feel like Team Fortress 2, but only because of the ridiculous level of astonishingly bad players.
I would have said it is a combination of all suggestions together but I just looked at the page and we are peaking at over 10k again today. Whatever it is, those numbers look not to bad.

There are level 10+ servers up now. Sadly though I’ve never seen people actually on them because I doubt too many people even know they exist due to the seriously low amount of filter options we have.

Ah right, thanks, that is worth knowing. I agree though, the filter options are pretty bad, it would be good to have region and level filters added.
