Nope. I have played the game every night and in the last two weeks there has been a noticeable drop. I have not seen any 8v8 lobbies in the last fortnight. At most i’ve seen 4/5 players split into teams

Pedobear =D

(Donnovan) #25

Make it free will not help. People will pre-think its gona free because its a bad game, and will not even try. I believe its a good game, so make it free will not help.

To answer the OP and address many other “BRINK WTF” moments… What is wrong with brink-

  1. Convoluted “match type” choice (objective, stopwatch, standard, competition, oldskool, custom, advanced)
  2. Convoluted user interface not limited to vote menu and fireteam creation
  3. Masquerading “single player with bots” as anything but
  4. Hindrances to in-game socializing even after fixes (VOIP, end game chat)
  5. Spectator implementation missing first person pov and lacking demo recording (questionable importance)
    _
  6. Weapon handling and gunplay (majority opinion)
  7. Medium and heavy body types are negligible (concede this is debatable)
  8. Fierce defensive bias (recent spawn time fixes to help?)
  9. Buffing and objective mechanics inferior to the enemy territory counterparts.

I think this sums up what is really wrong with BRINK without listing other gameplay mechanics still being debated (grenade shooting for example) or platform specific technical issues.

If you were to ask me what is right about BRINK I could just as easily provide a longer list.

(DrpPlates) #27

but sadly, this “longer list” is grossly overshadowed by your ‘shorter list’ and hence, makes the game so undesirable to play, for me… and apparently am not alone, game is barley two months old and the PC community went from, what, around 10k (if memory servers, recalling a steam stat) to what it is now- d.e.a.d :frowning:

Okay. Lets say I have gold ****. It’s gold. But its still ****.

(Apocalypse_Pony) #29

I think this almost sums up the whole problem. How do you **** up something as simple as creating a fireteam. WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE WAY IT WAS? I almost wonder if anyone from ET/QW still works here.

I really don’t like bad mouthing SD. I have HUGE respect for what they try to do for PC gaming and FPS’s. But this was like the perfect storm of a poor release. And like ETQW before it, it looks like it will, at best, be another successful failure.

(Zanchile) #30

well if its gold ****, then who cares if its ****, its still gold. unless its only gold colored ****. in that case its just gold colored **** that no one wants. except him

and maybe her.

but if it IS gold **** as in **** made out of gold, then your rich! cause who cares if its **** if its gold too. but then youd probably be dead cause you got something ****ing wrong with you if your ****ting out gold.

what was this thread about?

About 95% of people who have played Brink would agree with him, or have some kind of complaint about the game.
So I don’t think that would make him a troll, if it’s a general complaint that the majority of players (or people who have played it) have

Ignore him, the kid has no clue…

Correct me if I am wrong but the nature of your posts leave me to believe nobody cares to listen to what you have to say.

Even though he is defending my kind, you are completely wrong. Trolling SHOULD NOT rely on the majorities opinion. That’s just a bandwagon. And bandwagons aren’t always right.

(nick1021) #35

Just look at the enraged fanboys going against me. The fact that JUST you replied means you care.

(nephandys) #36

So because I’m motivated enough to add people to my friend’s list and organize games with them it doesn’t count as full games? I’m not in a clan mind you and I’m not playing 8v8 privates. 99% of the time I am playing with any where from 1-7 friends, in pub, with all randoms on the other team, some randoms on mine, standard mode and I get full games all the time.

(nephandys) #37

Sorry to question your credibility because once again full 8v8 games in standard last night. I’m not in a clan and I was only playing with 3 other people I know and yet still the games were full.

I start with an empty lobby every game I play with friends too so we can have a reliable host and within 2 matches every time it’s usually full.

Ok  What is right about BRINK? Without contradicting any of the wrongs you listed (all of which I agree with btw)

Any answers I don’t like will result in you being T-bagged mercilessly in ETQW (the best game on the planet but it really needs a new map pack, ya hear that SD…? huh?)

(TruGamer97) #39

I was just in a bunch of games were my team was full and the other team was almost full

(DrpPlates) #40

+1

got to love the ‘ignore’ ability on this site…
