The earlier videos were PC versions, later were console versions.

They started to hide the glorious PC videos so console gamers would stay away.

Well, the “Why” is not a hard question at all. Because consoles depend on heavily outdated hardware - that’s why. What is much more interesting is to what degree this has influenced the PC version.

this is what I was saying.
I know the PC is going to look better, no matter what.
you dont have to tell me, Im a PC gamer, I know that.

But when was the difference THAT big, sure, it’s possible to do that.
but I have yet to see a developer make such dramatic different looking versions of one and the same game.
Never happened before and my brain tells me it wont ever happen with brink.

I hope it will, but why are they so quiet about it?
It sure is no bad thing to cater towards the strenght of all platforms and if the PC version still looks as amazing as the footage I have posted, then why keep hiding it?
EA isnt doing it with dice, the opposite, they’re using the PC to show of their game, they officially say that the PC version will look miles better.
they use it as a marketing tool.

If brink still looks so good, why arent bethesda/SD doing the same?

Early ETQW looked totally different to the final released product. Playability and performance I believe were the causes.

Secondly, last I heard they had to shut down the voip because of all the raging kids on consoles.

This. So what if the graphics aren’t the most mind blowing thing ever? I mean I love some flashy graphics but hopefully the gameplay makes up for it. I’m worried about connection. If I can’t enjoy playing online with my friends then I might have to get a PC.

I guess in the beginning they were able to throw as much computing power as they wanted at it. In the later stages when it meant to get it to run on normal hardware it had to be scaled down quite a bit.

I see where you are coming though. I was like “seriously, guys?” when I saw some of the graphics in the latest trailers. Most likely it’ll still be possible to tweak it so we’ll get to see some beautiful frag movies.

Good graphics dont exclude good gameplay. period.

Lol dude what are you, some neckbeard in his moms basement bragging about his PC? I can easily afford a high-end PC but I’d rather use a console because it’s easier and I don’t take gaming very seriously. I actually leave the house and have a life.

I hate for this to be my first post, but seriously? The “I have a life” excuse is the lamest excuse I’ve ever heard. If you like playing on consoles, thats fine, but I don’t see a need to flame PC gamers either because of personal choice.

Standard response for someone lacking knowledge of any kind - the ones not lacking it got their priorities wrong and fail at everything else. They do not share your limitations, yet there is just no way you are not better then them. Surely they must be bad at everything else. It makes sense right?

op im a little confused, what do you mean by graphics being scaled down. you acknowledged that it was pc footage before and the new ones are consoles, i don’t see where the scaling down comes in. as a console player the graphics look good for me personally and the art design and color is pretty good.
