loosely translated: “yer screwed”

Seriously though, there are lots of things that can cause that kind of crash.

  • wrong driver versions
  • overclocked system
  • thermal issues
  • BIOS settings
  • bad hardware
  • incompatible software
  • bugs in ET

When does it occur?

I mean does it occur just after you call in an airstrike, or just when you begin to play?

Also it might help to turn off some programs, like anti-virus soft before you start to play?

Also does it occur off-line too, try it by disconnecting your network and creating a server, this way you will be alone in the map.

Well, it happens when I do alot of things before I start playing ET. Example, when I play Unreal Tournament or browse the Web. However, when I play after a reboot I dont get the error. I think it may be a memory issue. Even though I have 512MB DDR so I dont know…

Theres warning signs, I can always tell when I’m about to crash. First the screen flashes and the graphics go kinda nutty. They is gets frequently worse until it crashes.

(=MLK=FOO) #6

how much and what type of memory do you have?

(Mr. Chris) #7

I had flickery walls with the newest drivers, but they stopped when I reinstalled the good old 41.09 drivers

That sounds like heat issues. The reason things work fine after you do a reboot is that your CPU and mobo have a few minutes to cool down before you start torturing them again with high intensity games.
