What does Awaiting gamestate mean?

Hi!
For us who doesnt have english as our first language, it sometimes gets confusing. One wonders. “What does THAT mean, really!?”, sometimes.
Not that it matters, but what does “gamestate” mean (as in Awating gamestate)?
Just curious.

Its probably a special collection of data that contains all of the situational data of the game at the moment that you are joining. Such as what things are built, what is blown, where the current map is in the campaign, etc… It may also include all the server cvar restrictions and what not. I really do not know - I’m guessing.

I think it is basically whenever your PC and the server that you have logged into are talking to each other. Like the server is telling your PC we are playing this map and we are 15 minutes into the map, there are 22 people playing, 11 axis, 10 allies and 1 spectator, that sort of stuff.

It isn’t a common word in english it’s a word made up for something happening in the game.

I could be wrong but it sounds OK, doesn’t it ?

By the way Loffy I notice you are from Sweden, now I know Sweden is very cold but I have also seen Swedish movies, why are the people in Sweden always naked and bouncing up and down on each other ? Shouldn’t they wear lots of clothes and sit still to keep warm ? :drink:

The game waits for one good snapshot of what’s going on the server, before rendering the whole thing.

First the server sends the client the map, gamemode, mods, requiered files, along with a few other stuff. So the client can start loading and rendering these things.

And then it sends a snapshot of the whole situation on the server, what has been blown, what has not, where everyone is, etc.

I believe after that most snapshots are summarized, it will only send the information that has changed. No need to tell the client the status of the Command Post every single second, this is just needed when something has happened to it.

BTW, I recommend the non-pornographic shelves in the video store. Although I doubt you will find any Swedish movies there may be some other good stuff.

Ya,

I get that one too, along w/ missing shaders errors -

just have to reconnect and lose any XP you gained.

I think ill cry now and start a new thread
