What do you want to see in the next game?

What do you want to see in the next game from Splash Damage?

I would like to see better possibilities for movie making.

Why?

If you give more people the chance to produce movies you can reach a bigger audience which would help to promote your game for free!

- In general: Make it easier for beginners!

  • unlocked fps, more than 30fps in demo replays please! (with 30fps you can’t do smooth slowmotions)
  • make the demo system more easier - a config was needed to pause, speed up, slow down but also to cut a demo
  • demos should be able to watch without a restart of the game, no matter what mod was used
  • implemented camera path system whereby you can watch players from any angle and furthermore track nades, rockets, etc.
  • switch in the view of any player would be really cool
  • maybe a movie mod where you can change HUD settings?

You forgot to mention rewinding demos  The demo system from COD:BO (from what i’ve seen at least) looked good. It had all the basic functions (rewind, fast forward etc.) I’d like easier demo making and options aswell.

Take a look at the new source filmmaker tool. It is for free (!) and you can even animate with it. From what I heard and seen it is the most advanced movie making tool out there. In one word: stunning.

More maps. (almost impossible to see a game with many maps nowadays as everything is expected to be “ZOMG NEW DLC FOR YOU GUYZ!”

(tangoliber) #5

Something like Brink, but with accurate hipfire guns,

Something like Brink, but with accurate hipfire guns.
Demo recording that allows you to pause, rewind, and move the camera around would be incredible.

(Humate) #7

An inbuilt database of demos with the ability to search via nickname.
Would be cool to see how different players approach the game, across the world.

The ability for friends or clanners to msg, and have that msg popup in the match itself.
Also have the option to set as busy, so that no msgs come through.

Custom hitsounds

The ability for spectators to secretly chat with one another.
eg /spec this guys definitely hacking cough

Team chat whilst in spectator mode does this already no?

A rewind function seems less problematic for the unreal engine.

But eh, boring technical external stuff aside:

I’d really like to see players having a bigger effect on the geometry of maps. More dynamic movable components, more optional constructible and all that.

(Humate) #10

Possibly .chris., its been too long since ive played…

Except that UE can’t do proper first person spectating.

(Humate) #12

Thats a pity… first person spectating is the only reason ET can get away with 20 second spawns.

(Ashog) #13

relax guys, the next SD game will be RPG…

(Humate) #14

Take radar out of the game and create better non verbal communication tools.

Im hoping thats an ‘actually it can’ penguin

Just a smooth game… With a good netcode, where your moves are smooth and your aim steady, shouldnt be that hard to hit what I’m aiming at in 2013 / 2014…

Balance and stuffs and historical background and everything, SD showed us that they do know how to nail it, now what I want is a decent game with everything you know how to do in it, and with the little “Plus” that would make it a “must have” in the fps category.

Peace

For God’s sake, please, no permaunlocks!!!

(tokamak) #19

No permanent unlocks, instead we need inertia on the way people chose to amplify the way they grow a specialisation so that they can’t change it ad hoc.

(BioSnark) #20

“so that they can’t change it ad hoc.”

because that’s always a bad… wait, adaptation’s a bad thing?
