I disagree. Firmly. Classes should be able to be played in several ways, to suit a playerās personal preferences and skills, not to enforce a certain way of playing. I call that versatility and freedom of choice. Suggestions of reducing the medic to being a mobile medcrate, to me, feel motivated by envy, being unable to compete and a desire to lower the skillceiling.
A shooter should be about who has the better reflexes, awareness and aim, not who has the bigger gun (unless itās the soldier class, as having the more powerful weapons is what theyāre basically about). It should all come down to who wins the 1 v 1 and there the odds are even, no matter if itās a medic involved or not. I donāt think Iāve ever had the time to heal during a firefight. And is it really so horribly bad if the victor can heal up afterwards if you failed to shoot him?
Every class should have the capacity to beast on their own, because you simply cant rely on pub matches with randoms being played as one collective organised effort. You cant force teamplay and expect people to enjoy it. It has to be an option.

Itās because of versatility and freedom purposes why we need a balanced medic. We want to be able to play whatever class we will enjoy most, with both itās advantages AND disadvantages. Ones freedom must end somewhere so the ppl who play various classes can enjoy the game too - if you pick medic, you get advantage of self-healing during the combat, itās clear you do, you can even healUp during the very close quarters combat actually, look at the radar, drop, w8. Havenāt figured this out? I guess you did, but I understand you really want to convince us, that your favorite class shall be overpowered :). Nothing personal though, I just want all the classes to be balanced, so I will pick what I need most not without cost of losing something else in other dimension. It feels so naturalā¦Why somebody would believe that now the Universe has suddenly change, and game will be more fun if not balanced?
Take it easy. Medic should not be a walking medcrate with a panzerfaust. It should have powerful guns and be called āsoldierā or have a medpacks and weaker guns - to balance medic.
And not about who plays medic? What has changed that suddenly? :)) Iām really glad you finally understood it, and you agreed, that we need balance.

Easy to explain when you take a look on a wider area - there are more people. One is added to upcoming spawn-wave, then another go against the medic and die as well. You think it should be all the way optimized for 1vs1, but that way you loose track of the teamplay thing. How? Itās simple - in SD games you can do much more than just spray at enemies. Itās not about 1vs1, its about 12vs12. So if one player have ability to heal-up during the combat, then after the combat, during run-away for a while and so onā¦ that ability shall come at some cost. To balance it.
The different approaches leads us to different conclusions - quite a normal thing. Normal thing for games is putting cost on abilities, so you cannot get overpowered. Here you should have the answer for me: So change to medic, your team can have as many as enemies! And here comes the contrargument: Is that really argument for overpowering medic? Without it overpowered you not only still have āthe same overall balanceā, but you can also enjoy freedom of choice, and versatility of the game. Absolutely better in dimensions youāve pointed out.

Medics canāt do objectives. Most of the time rambo medic = cheater. I prefer kamikaze medic to revive team mates And i would prefer ET style medic, not QW, because in QW strogg technician is really op when it comes to playing rambo.

Certainly it needs a primary game mode that all the āgoodā players will want to play, and a āheadless chickenā mode for the great un-washed who we hope someday will grow up and join us playing the game the āproperā way.
Weapon handling / characteristics :-
āMediumā damage model, i.e. somewhere between ETās ultra low and COD Hardcoreās ultra-high. I think ā1 shot 1 killā is nuts, but so is 5 body / 3 head for a kill. Iām thinking 2 or 3 body shots, 1 or 2 head shots, depending on what kind of guns the game will feature. Iād like to see SMGās with high fire rate and low damage, Assault Rifles with higher damage and lower fire rate, and Sniper / bolt action Rifles with even higher damage and even lower fire rate, otherwise you end up with everyone using the same gun, which is boring.
When attempting to balance a diverse range of weapons look to spread LAST. All guns should be accurate. Increase / reduce recoil as necessary, increase / reduce reload time, increase / reduce clip capacity etc., just donāt be lazy and add spread to make some of the guns easier to use than others so Johhny Newb whoās never played an FPS before doesnāt get whooped and go crying to Mummy the first time he plays. I started in RTCW, got 6 barrells of crap kicked out of me for months, but it never did me any harm, I just kept at it till I got better.
Include ADS / Iron-sights, and no shooting while sprinting. Sorry ET guys those days are over, weāre not playing old 2 dimensional games anymore with no imagination and no ambition.
And the most important thing: DONāT underestimate your player base like you did with Brink. Aim it at 12 year old console kiddies and itāll die just as quick as Brink did.
Kendleā¦ to some point I could have agreedā¦ but ET damage model was perfect. IronSights are not, and sprint+spray days are not over at all. There is no mechanics behind that āchangeā, and there is no attractor, if you want a game totally different from what;s going to happen here - sorry, you;'ve mentioned CoD - maybe it;s the game for you? This one just isnāt, sorry.

Please just one request this game speed should not be lower than enemy territory its speed made me unable to play other shooting games with lesser speed than it i think im not the only one as most of this new game funs played ET (still playing it anyway) but be sure that changing the game mod that created for the other games will make this new one just onother copy of COD or whathever other game ET was a unique style game hope this one will be too

Iām 49, played SD games since SD existed, and many others, including RTCW, ET, ET:QW, Wolfenstein, Brink, all the games that could be considered part of the āfranchiseā. Wanna makes some more assumptions or have you made a big enough prat of yourself for one day

Developers these days have to get real. One gun, used one way, to play one game mode, doesnāt cut it anymore. Games like BF3 / COD etc. are successful because they recognise a simple fact, not everyone is the same. Different people like different things, and catering for them increases units sold.
That doesnāt mean the game canāt cater for YOU as well. The knee-jerk reaction is to remove the stuff you donāt like. Try recognising that the stuff you donāt like someone else does, and if the game caters for them as well thatās more players on the servers, which is good for everyone.

Really? Why COD/BF devās donāt bother adding objective like in et/qw/brink? Their same old crap is still cutting it. Making millions in first 24 hours from sheeps still happening.
BF3 does have an objective mode, itās called Rush, and itās the primary game mode played in competition. Iāve played a LOT of 4-v-4 Rush in ESL and itās a very focused, team-orientated game mode, and reminded me a lot of my old RTCW / ET days. especially with BF3ās classes (I was a Medic in RTCW, the kind that supported the attacking players, not the rambo kind later found in ET) and playing Medic in BF3 Rush was the closest Iāve come to RTCW (my first love) for a very long time.
COD of course is primarily played in S&D (in competition), which is ācounter-strikeā mode to all intents and purposes, CS being the most successful FPS ever (and of course is also an objective mode).
Of course both games milk the franchise, releasing essentially the same game year after year, but thatās another story, the mechanics of the game can be considered separately from how the developers have abused the franchises over the years.
Stop. Stop bringing BF/COD/CS crap OKAY? Iām kinda sick and tired already. Talk about SD and their games ET, ET:QW, BRINK and upcoming DirtyBomb. I could care less if those games are profitable, or most successful. All i want is SD style game with proper objectives and classes.
SD style game? W:ET, ET:QW and Brink were all quite different from each other and Iām pretty sure RAD Soldiers isnāt even an FPS! not sure what an SD style game would be exactly?
