What do you want to see in Dirty Bomb?

(.N.E.R.D.) #41

!!! Reallife Death Penalty For Stupid Teamkills !!!

(Chaos1907) #42

Pretty much what everyone said but I mainly want PunkBuster in the game. That’s all.
1.No iron sight
2.Trick jumps (Double jump, strafe jump, rocket jump?)
3.ā€Fastā€ movement, gameplay (Quake 3?)
4.Cooking grenades
5. Changeable crosshair (size, color…)
6.Color nicknames
7.Stats site like BF3
8.FOV slider
9. Changeable hud
10.Spectator mod
11.Demo recording
12.Dedicate server
13.Healing like in W:ET
14.Size of maps for competitive gaming 6vs6
15.Rifle-grenade weapons(like in W:ET), Flamethrower
16.Best anti-cheat protection
I like all of these options as well. I wouldn’t mind some more SMART play either to balance out the lack of iron sighting, it’d fit right in.
I want another fairly accessible, fast paced, frenetic and dynamic FPS like Brink was SUPPOSED to be… I loved Brink, despite all its flaws (regret paying release price, though)… But it could have been world’s better.
I wanna feel the SPIRIT of that gameplay again.

Only other thing I’d like to add is extensive aesthetic and practical customization of the player character… I think I would like to do away with rank/level unlocks in that sense.

One of the first FPS I have ever been good at (aside from Left 4 Dead series).

Also, how come no one has pointed out how similar Dirty Bomb looks to Brink? The art style and environments look nearly identical so far, from what we’ve seen in the teaser.

 1. Great balance of weapons, perks and characters without the use of Premium titles…
 2. Rewards EXP and goodies for not only kills…But for Assist, Objective completed, and etc
 3. Reduce the amount of lag or hackers within the servers…
 4. Server ping and latency friendly for Asian Servers :stuck_out_tongue:
 5. Endless and new Missions, objectives and content!!
 6. PROMOTE COOP GAMEPLAY!!!

(YouAreGood) #46

I get you mean ā€œanti-cheatā€ not ā€œpunk busterā€ literally, as the PB is not good anti-cheat.

The good method of getting rid of cheaters is matchmaking ā€œbased on skillā€.

I prefer clear distinction between classes, with no icons or red-glow thing…

About how similar it looks - maybe it’s because they want to use so far done work on Brink to get new title faster. On the other hand - maybe it’s really early version, so it uses temporarily some of what we’ve seen.

I still love and play RTCW, and Wolf ET
Quake wars was disappointing :frowning:

i’d like to see
…lots of objectives (roles for engineers, etc)
…lots of team play
…less fragging and more thinking
…No rambo medics, and no self healing
…and a mapping kit for making new levels

(KlausMorgenholz) #48

Simple: More ETQW and W:ET gameplay, I just did not like Brink’s gameplay.
I hope the game will be more like those two. The trailer’s opening omitted Brink for a reason(?)

ETQW has been satisfactorily disappointing me for 5 years now.

Going rambo is a mentality that can certainly be combatted, but will require nerfing the medic class by giving medics either less health/ammo, lesser weaponry or disallowing self-healing. Essentially gimping the medic, making them unable to go toe to toe with other classes, unless heavily baby-sat by other medics, which I detest.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a pub player and getting a bunch of people together on a public server can be somewhat of a challenge. The way the medic works in ETQW (standard weaponry and health as other classes/self heal) gives me the durability, self-sufficiency and firepower I need to give my team a chance when we’re struggling.
Besides, I’d say it’s usually the better players ramboing it up, as the medic class allows them to maximize their abilities and in doing so keep the opposing players of your back while you’re constructing/hacking/etc… Nerfing would, in your eyes, probably mean levelling the field a bit. In mine it’s a way to make everyone equally mediocre.

Lots of objectives usually means players swarming all over the map, while the main objective remains untouched.

And if you want a game that involves more thinking (ā€˜let’s all think the enemy to death!’) than ETQW (don’t know about WET), the devs will have to include an extra brain with the dvd, as mine will likely explode.

Guys, almost forgot!

LAN GAMES!

I know, I know. No F2P game features LAN gaming (afaik) but you could allow that, even if you make it mandatory to stay online for that. Many of us still like to throw a LAN party at home a few times a year…

I agree - I don’t think there is anything wrong with the W:ET medic class. They are, in effect, the soldiers of the game who help the objective classes do their jobs, and because they can heal themselves and other medics, the intensity and fast-play of battles is maintained.
I know that some servers are basically just team DM games with a bunch of medics that don’t care for objectives, but the great thing about W:ET was that you could just find another server AKA ā€œmicro-communityā€.

(KlausMorgenholz) #53

Medics were maybe a little OP in W:ET but far from it in ETQW.

Not sure if its been said…

Please - no Aircraft! if you need vehicles in the game, fine… armored personal or light tanks so bit it…

A good pilot (am referring to anansi/tormentor in ETQW) could/can dominate an entire campaign…
or you get a tar who does nothing but camp with it - firing while well out of range of avts/rl…
i know far to many people who left the game,(etqw’s) for this reason, well this and a few other reasons…

as for anti-cheat… please NO PB! its junk and a resource hog, and if it was on fire it aint worth the piss to put it out!

MEDICS - GDF (etqw) Medics, are perfect… fast instant revive … nothing better, throwing a syringe (brink style) god awful idea…

KEEP THE GAME FAST PACED…

I think the biggest problem with aircraft in ETQW was the countermeasures reload time. It made it soooo difficult to shoot them down with a rocket launcher or an obliterator.

(YouAreGood) #58

We need a compromise on the medic… Artificial obstacles are not welcome on both side - to start with. So eating own medpacks at additional cost of 100% energy needed to throw one, or whatever… It causes other problems… No one likes that idea, I’m pretty sure.

As we don’t want to put some invisible wall in front of the medics face, and at appropriate height - we need a medic to become less powerful in terms of firepower.

Arguments that medic have to take care of mate making objective fails to convince audience, because you can either be on the push and defend team. Therefore you don’t want lack of balance just to let somebody have more chances alone, than more than 1 enemy approaching. Someone might come up with calculation, that if we will have CvOps hacking and medic guarding him, then 2 enemies incoming shall have == chances, as both teams have 2 players at objective, yet that kind of argumentation falls into pieces as soon as we will state that there are 2 enemy medics incoming = 4 players in this simplified model, that exaggerates, yet keeps the proportions, in some sense.

Why medic should not be the ultimate soldier class? The defender of soldiers, the killer of dragons… Because it’s shooter, not single player RPG… We need balance. If some class have advantages - they shall come at some cost. If somebody is convinced he will only/mostly play medic - he will want it to be more powerful than it should be, although for most of ppl this overpowered medic is only a problem, as they would like to freely pick a class based on what they want to do, not on that they need to pick medic as it for some pathetic reason leads to more powerful team-formation at no cost… but cost of lost fun.

Every time a medic kills a soldier after eating own medpacks and doing same damage to it;s enemy - god kills one baby-tapir. That is the final argument! Balance medic!

Power comes at cost - in order to get it medic need to stop throwing medpacks, and therefore convert totally into a soldier. Wanna medpacks? Give back the full-sized assault rifle first.

Other stuff:

 • Hitsounds: Agree, ET sounds.
 • No aircraft: Rather both vehicle and vehicle-free maps, and maybe smaller range for anansi. Actually why shall it not loose it’s power linearly as function of distance? We don’t need physical explanation :P, it’s a game, it have to be playable, not realistic(excluding graphics, yes, no brinking pls, I don’t want to end up with ET:Team Fortress, I’ve got one and it;s enough). One will say ā€œless and less fuelā€ - I don’t care. As well as I don’t care about ā€œstoryā€ in a shooter… Seriously - let us write it, we would prefer story-driven game, we would not pick a shooter.
 • Fast paced - hell yeach! Hip-Shooting, jumping, trick-jumping without ā€œSMART buttonā€ yet with reasonable combinations of standard movement and stance buttons + mouse movement of course.
 • Lots of objectives, ability to skip one with higher effort, just like on Fuel Dump, back in ET, where 1 side objective and then cooperation between CvOps and Engie was an alternative to the standard objective path. It was extremely playable with that, so why so cautious? Relax!
 • Balanced medic: best thing can happen to ET games!
 • Quite cumulative rocket for Panzerfaust should fix the other great problem, say it would be effective against only what it hits directly… Mmm  EDIT: And if its the wall nearby - it should go back directly hitting the panzanoobs face! Ha! …for some 30 dmg? That punch…
