Dear devs, if you happen to read this,

First of all i’d like you to hire back the BRINK designers. The Extraction maps were so far one rare thing i really love in this game, but the characters are just too lambda, grey/green shade, no charism. We can’t guess their personnality by looking at them… i mean, not even the will of victory! Sure BRINK had lambda face expressions, but they looked after victory, by any means. Their faces wanted to fight. In Extraction they just look like “hi, i’m class #1, i lost my family and spent months in a ward. I want to go home”. The realistic face/bodies don’t help this impression, really. BRINK had the Comic bonus look. Look at Team Fortress 2 : you can tell by their look what country/region they’re from, and sometimes more details about their life just by hearing their quotes & accents. And guess what, TF2 is also team based, omagad! The overall esthetic is entertaining (and optimised)!
So to be clear, i don’t want such customization settings as BRINK, but just that the characters preset looks like they are actually people fighting for something, with noticeable differences (not just sexe, helmet & pouches), handsome design, and maybe a bit of cartoony-like taste. -
Secondly, i don’t know about other beta testers, but i had that terrible feeling of using the weapons of BRINK in Extraction beta. The weapons/shoot feelings were the worst thing about BRINK in my opinion, and it doesn’t look like your next game is helping it. What i do want is to increase accuracy in the weapons so we don’t see the cursor spreading like the moon all the time. I play TF2, Counter-Strike and Arma, and i must say it’s a pain to see there is no “single shot” or “burst shot” mode on weapons as everybody is firing like YOLO. The adrenaline in a FPS is based on weapons feedback (and last seconds objectiv of course), if you fail at the source of the gameplay, why would i want to go any further to see your so wonderful objectives? I play BRINK as medic all the time!! Why?? Because the shooting sucks! So i spent my time sliding around, healing fellows and that’s it.
Don’t do it twice Splash, just don’t. Make the shooting a solid selling point. This game is F2P okay, but it doesn’t mean it can’t have some competitive feeling instead of casu-ironsight-usual ****. Most of the time, the game is playing like quake 3 arena, it takes ages to take someone down, unless you go straight to him. And i saw you have good headshot feeling in Extraction, but the game is just not engaging head-to-head confrontation, people aim at the body all the time. So maybe, you should make the body way less significant in order to force people to develop some headshot skills (which players used to have on WlfET). It would bring even more tension in the gameplay, add some strategy aspect, and calm the **** down that circus. -
About the classes, i don’t have much to say, it works, but i really enjoyed the BRINK close-buff system. In Extraction you drop stuff, expecting people to take it, but in BRINK you were responsible for your mates buff, because you actually had to meet them really close to apply the buff, and i loved that! So perhaps you could either change it, or give the player the choice of the 2 different buffs approach gameplay?

Another thing is to make maps for 8v8 players, no less. Less players is less action, is more boring, is byebye. 6v6 is good for competition though, like for clans. But in order to keep players flowing, it may be better to concentrate them on less servers, but with larger capacity, where they wont feel bored.

Even though i’m european and play on EU server, and my ping is 26, i can feel lag sometime. Is that because of the game ressources or miscalculation of the ping?

Apart form all that, it felt ok. I love the maps, the objectives mecanisms, the sound quality and weapons noises. The Engine is pretty cool. But the game need some more identity and technical gameplay improvements in order to make it funny and out of the bucket. The last thing i want is to see you fail another time (still BRINK was a success to me, but the communication around failed it). I didn’t enjoyed it as much as i expected. I came in october and it was plenty (in the beginning) or players, but really messy. And today, there is almost nobody at all in servers. This either means you’re good to go for a rerereboot or that people felt it was too much like BRINK but minus SMART system and customization, the good stuff actually…
