well Brink is 9 days till release and i am getting restless. just for fun, what do you think may start to become annoying? like that little problem that always seems to mess things up. sometimes these things can be game breaking, other times just annoying, ie. Dolfin Diving(bf2) double melee strike deaths (Halo) For me, i think it will be when two people slide into each other, so they both fall down and start spraying… only to both be killed.
What do YOU think will be annoying?
Molotov cocktails just a vibe i have that people will be annoyed with it.
Why is that annoying? That would be so awesome to do or see. It’s not giving anyone an unfair advantage it doesnt break the game.
I can see people getting annoyed at getting knocked down repeatedly, and I’m not sure the cutscenes will go down too well after the first play through, even if they are trying to match-make you in the background.
Hope there’s no delay in that process either. Could be very annoying if you have to wait for another “server” to finish the round before you can play on.
If a team actually coordinates well enough to Armor buff, improved health Buff, improved weapon buff, and ammo buff a heavy soldier with a Minigun and/or grenade launcher…I don’t want to be anywhere near it.

You can skip the cutscenes.
Probably some game mechanic or weapon that will get overused if not fixed down the line.
Nothing post-release support cant fix.
Take BC2 as an example:
Medics (LMGs and Revives)- a number of ways that could have been fixed, but wasn’t.
Auto-Aiming Fail-knife - Fixable
Noob tubes - actually got pretty much fixed
etc.

The reson that classes got weird medic choices was that they lowered the number of classes way too much in bad company. should have still had Support for ammo and LMG, Specialist for silenced SMG and C4.
-The “one, two” combo of long rifles - hit you with a rifle round, then quickly pull out secondary weapon to finish you. Like the plasma pistol/BR combo in Halo 2.
-
Slide tackles. I can see players slide tackling, then quickly meleeing the downed player before he knows what happened. Just slide tackles in general I can see being annoying - You are in an intense firefight with a…oops, his teammate just slide tackled you. Slide tackles have the potential to replace the frustration I get from snipers in other games.
-
Don’t know how much I like the ability to instantly melee kill knocked down and incapped players.
-
The potential for players to create builds that work “perfectly” with one another (or by themselves), swaying the community to only use a handful of builds, rather than encountering players that use a wide range of builds.
-
Players who think FPS stands for “First Person Stabber” and just run around stabbing and shooting with the pistol.
-
Lack of competent team players (this is more of an Xbox Live problem)
This would be where I come in…I have already told many of my friends that I plan on playing Heavy Medic primarily, and they will all be there to buff the **** out of me.
I can see campers still being annoying just people who don’t want to play for any reason but to shoot **** even though there’s plenty of that trying to complete objective. what I DO like is the fact that you can flank those kinds of people now… but mostly probably a weapon combo that will rape you instantly will eventually be pretty annoying. other than that playing a new character against super leveled ones would also suck hard.
Chain knock-downs from grenades. As someone said above, molotov cocktails with the instant knock-down, if chained from more than one soldier, could be hard to overcome. IF it does become something that is abused, I’d like to see some kind of Diminishing Returns system, where if you’re hit with one, then again within 10 seconds of standing up, it would only knock you down for half the normal duration.
Just me though. Most other things seem pretty fair from what I’ve seen.
But read the last part of that sentence. I suspect waiting on matchmaking will be pretty annoying in campaign, as will finally joining laggy locally hosted games. Fighting a couple medics might be more annoying, however.
In terms of combat, I think if a player chooses silencers for their weapons, and the silent running perk - then unwanted social teamwork will end up being quite annoying. The game assumes the player wants health, when they are on low health and automatically communicates this to team-mates. When in reality, they may want to regen their health instead, so they dont draw attention to themselves by a team-mate who doesnt have silent running.
So for me auto-says = annoying
Yeah, will be interesting to see how this pans out … In ETQW Infiltrators were deadly at close range with railgun/blaster pistol combo, coz you could hipshot enemy in the guts then quickly finish them off with the blaster.
but the GDF equivalent of covert ops with sniper rifle/pistol combo was virtually useless when you tried the same tactic, it took too long to swap to pistol coz of the longer shooting animation of the sniper rifle and also the pistol was weaker than the blaster …
basically this tactic in Brink could be anything from deadly to useless depending how quickly you can swap weapons.
I think getting knocked down is going to piss me off a lot, especially by Molotov cocktails.
