Might as well delete Arty and Kira from the game now since shitting on the Dreiss a few months back wasn’t enough to satisfy Smooth.

I’d vote: too early to be able to express myself on it.

I think they’re different and that after people who used them get to get used to the new fire rate, they’ll probably be better.

There seems to be a bug where it gun is skipping clicks, meaning it doesn’t shoot when i actually click mouse1 :-1:

Really, it was a Nerf but not as big as people are making it. The devs just made the guns reward people that have better aim.

I think the burst rifles should be able to switch to single fire. Not sure if that would be op and balance would be crazy but it would give people a option.

Two of the options in the poll are the same.

Not a bug, just bad game design. If you click a millisecond too soon it won’t fire at all. It’s really annoying.

I fully understand why people call it a nerf and are pretty mad about it(and regarding the Stark, I’m completely on that side, too), but if you have very good aim, you can still chew through enemies with the BR-16, even more so than before. three more rounds in the magazine and a better damage output.
yeah the DPS got lower, but does DPS really matter on a burst rifle?
if you play a semiautomatic sniper rifle or a bolt action, you don’t calculate the body dps either, because if you aim well, the enemies will drop.

yeah the problem may be bigger then we suspect. The issue was guys using the mouse wheel to do massive rof. The issue is in that situation if they cant create spread on it then it becomes op an the solution is to slow the fire down. The problem with that is it no longer feels natural to fire. So there is more work that needs to be done on these guns. I think they should introduce a big spread penalty ala minigun if you abuse the mouse wheel or click too fast. This would make a bit more sense then just stoping the trigger from working on a mechanical device.

Too bad I’m one of those people with bad aim and it’s now too punishing for me to play BR. You miss the first shot and most likely it’s going to be too bad, so sad…

Hard to say, the BR-16 only would had needed the 30 mag.
The stark in other hand still sucks, i think they should had made this change only for it making stark more unique (less spammy and more about the aim and damage).

I’ve just tried the BR-16 : it’s fine to me. Okay the delay between shots is more present, but it’s definitely not unplayable. I’d say that the dalay increase was probably totally deserved since Stark AR and BR-16 were, prior to the update, by far the highest you could get with 165 DPS. When you know that every other primaries have a DPS between 120 and 135, you can definitely say that something feels wrong here.

You can still check the weapon stats from before the update here : http://dirtybomb.gamepedia.com/WeaponStats . As you can see, BR-16 and Stark AR do dominate when it’s about DPS.

While no one really dared to say that Burst Fire guns were OP, I guess it would just have been a matter of time before we saw a thread like that. Now Burst Fire weapons are obviously not for the most inaccurate of us, and are clearly much more long range based.

I’m fine that change. I’ll try to play BR-16 Skyhammer a bit more and come back with a better feedback.

They weren’t OP, they were hard to use and rewarded the player for handling them well. This is the Dreiss nerf all over again, no one ever saw that weapon being used in a serious environment after it lost 25 DPS and no one will ever see burst rifles again after losing even more than that.

You’re forgetting that they not only increased delay between bursts, but reduced the burstfire RPM a significantly noticeable amount (850+ to 800). Please don’t pretend the BR-16 is actually more buff than it was before, nobody can seriously come to that conclusion when they look at the patch note numbers and in-game.

Yes, DPS matters on a burst rifle because they’re in the same category as assault weapons. They’re not snipers, I thought that much would be obvious. With this patch, they’re being kept more in line with the Dreiss, which means they’re relegated to work between the range of M4s and Grandeur/PDP/bolt actions. Let’s be honest, the Dreiss barely sees any play outside of pubs, got nerfed and was almost completely absent except for Free Week Artys. The same is happening for the BR-16 and Stark, and just completely upsets how Arty and Kira are played.

People need to understand that paper DPS isn’t everything. I guess that explains why Skyhammers and Fraggers used M4 over BR-16 even with the massive difference in raw DPS? This patch just killed Arty and Kira’s ability to push aggressively and hold their own in CQC; now the bar to perform well has been raised so high, it’s not worth it when you can take a much more solid Support merc like Skyhammer and Stoker.

it’s simply this for me, if they dont change the guns back to how they were, then I’m gonna have to find myself a new game. Kira with Stark AR was all i needed to enjoy this game.
