What do you think about the amount of ranked points awarded ?

(Eox) #1

I was thinking a lot about the time investment required to earn ranked points and loadouts. I think it could be a valuable feedback if we could report what we think about the current amount of ranked points earned at the end of a match.

As a reminder, the current values are :

  • 50 for a win.
  • 30 for a draw.
  • 10 for a loss.

Cases cost 1000 ranked points each. This means that you have to play 20 ranked games at best to earn a single ranked game. However if you are very unlucky and only lose, you’ll have to play 100 games in order to earn a case. Of course those are the best and worst case scenario. In reality we should all have to play a more reasonable amount of game. Probably around 30-40.

So what do you think about those values ?

Note : the poll is anonymous.

think it should be 20 for a loss.

or 35/15/5 with a no quitter bonus that inceases it by 5 per game until you reach 50/30/20

Doesn’t matter what we the players think , that much is clear now so i say whatever

I believe in regions such as the US and Europe (regions that are relatively populated), these values are not much of an issue (this is speculation, I have never queued in these regions). For my region of Australia/Asia, it does feel very low, and that it takes a significant amount of time to accumulate 1000, as average queue times (at least for me personally) are anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour, and this is during peak time.

Someone else mentioned in another thread that it should scale, and I agree with that.

EG 500 RP for the first case, 750 for the second, then cap it at 1000.

Also, the ranked login bonus should apply to each season (IMO).

As it stands I’m sitting on 600ish from last season and I’ll slowly creep up there to get 1 case.

If I had the bonus I’d go for the 2k Aura card, and with the end of season reward probably grab a case and have some change left over.

The values are fine in my opinion. But we should be able to reroll the cases at the cost of credits.
When you open the case, after the animation is played you should see the card and have 2 options:
First one: accept card
Second one: reroll case for x credits (y rerolls left)

If you accept the card, you are stuck with it. So you should not be able to skin the animation
The credit cost should be a reasonable price of maybe around 10k-20k credits and you will be limited to y rerolls (I think 3 sounds fair) so you can’t keep rerolling until you get a card you like.
But the 1000 comp points price seems pretty fair to me. They are meant to be rare cards.
I just wish you got free 500 comp points every season instead of just it being a one time reward in S2

Prices would be fine if you couldn’t get dupes.

For people with one of those ‘job’ things, or other commitments the current payout is pretty terrible. Maybe part of the reason people are so eager to surrender a match they feel isn’t going their way is because 50 credits just isn’t worth fighting for? Why potentially struggle for anywhere up to 30 minutes for 10 credits when you can surrender right now, get the same credits and be into another match in a few minutes?

Double the current credit gain for wins/losses. 100 credits/win still means 10 wins to get a case, and 20 credits/loss makes for 50 losses. So its likely to be 20-30 games for most decent solo players. Everybody gets a few more cases, general frustration levels go down since you’re still making progress even if you lose.

incrementally more expensive cases are the way to go, 500, 750, 1000, 1250 and then cap at 1500

It’s wierd. “Too low” is winning but most of you are suggesting a solution other than increasing the amount of ranked points awarded.

(M4st0d0n) #11

I’m sure this was suggested before. Stopwatch is in two round. Maybe…

30 for a win.
30 for a draw.
15 for round won (objective completed).
10 for a loss.

Edit : Case 2 is loss / Win / Win obviously, but I lack HTML skills to do a proper table and wont reupload a calc screenshot.

(DrRageQuit) #12

How about rewarding points to each player dependent on how well they performed? Instead of being punished with 10 points for that ass that quit out at the start of the game, reward the players based on health/ammo given and objective completion.

Little biased right now, on a streak of five losses because of inexperienced kids throwing matches or quitting out.

(neverplayseriou) #13

@DrRageQuit So I should just have to lose all 10 of my placements so I can stomp bronzes for easy ranked points?

(Your worst knifemare.) #14

An extra reward for every player thats stays after someone leaves on your team would be nice.

Are you suggesting people dont do that already?

The system is way too generous. The cards are supposed to be ‘special’ yet people end the season with 30+ ranked cards. If SD ever wants the game to actually generate money, they need to cut down on the free stuff they hand out.

(watsyurdeal) #17

Personally I’m more interested in a scaling option, that takes into account whether your team lost or not, and your individual performance. But that’s just me.

(pumpkinmeerkat) #18

Could increase the drop rate for ranked cases or have the drop rate increase over consecutive ranked matches.

Give me 10 examples of people earning that many cards.

Even if there were people getting that many. You put in the time, you get the reward.

For those that don’t have a life, the system is too high… for those that do, or that don’t play DB in RANKED as much, it’s not high enough.

I played 6 placement matches in the first three days, had a permanent leaver in two of the losses, and one additional loss because when you have two teammates that even when added together are almost 10k below you, your “team” just can’t handle it. These event occur too frequently in every ranked “placement” matches for me to ever believe it even could place me near where my skill level is.
