That is good news. Off topic question, but ill ask since you seem to be well informed;
Will you be able to pick weapons off the ground like in ET?
Yes, but they will have little ammo in them. Also, I’m not sure what happens if say, a Light players tries to pick up a minigun.
What body type do you anticipate you will play most?
His shoulders dislocate, his joints rip apart and he completely loses his arms from trying to lift a 200 KG weapon, I’d say.
I’m curious to see how the zeitgeist in the community (even if it’s small) has changed.
:Wow, this sucks. this is going to become a light mosh pit where people refuse to use anything but the light body type. that will be the death of this game.
They will thin out after the game releases.
Right now, Light seem to be the most popular (on other polls as well) since many players are hoping to be stealthy ninjas in the game - unfortunately, a good number of them are going to be disappointed because, well for lack of a better word, they suck.
Some of them will wind up going Medium or Heavy for the extra guns and hitpoints.
Others will change after they learn that, in order to ne that ninja they were daydreaming about, they are going to have to work for it, and master the SMART system, leaving a much smaller number of players who can truly use the Light bodytype successfully. I still think they will be a popular choice, but I see many of the initial Light players, jumping ship.
I look at them like snipers in other games - 90% of the community wants to use them. Only 10% are actually good.
that’s what I think anyway.
Better shut down the forums until the game is released then huh … ?
Anyway, I play Heavy and Medic a lot in TF2 so it’s no wild stretch what I’d like to try in BRINK…
Heavy Medic with a Minigun… Hopefully it’ll work out, but who knows.
time will tell. we all can settle their potential abilities are intriguing, yet as you say, only a small group will excel. additionally i they will only be needed in small amounts per team… tho only SD knows right about now…
No offence buddy, but i don’t think you know what a rambo medic is.
It’s someone who does the opposite of what you said, namely doesn’t care about objectives, just heals himself while pwning everyone, prefferably all at once and with only a luger playing the symphony of the unmistakable triple-ding.
That being said, i was joking about the rambo medic thing.
And i appreciate the effort.
:o
Actually, I read the term for the first time the other day in a BF:BC2 blog. It was in the context of someone running around reviving people who didn’t want to be revived in the face of enemy fire - just so that they could score the revive points. I assumed that is what it meant.
Thank you for the explanation.
@madoule, 今ですか? 今は七時四十五分です。lol
@Horse, yes, I will be one of those that loves the fast, maneuverability of the Light, but will have to switch back to the Medium because I won’t be able to keep up with other Lights anyway, and will die too often. I will enjoy watching the Lights played well, however.
I am surprised, however, at how many people are planning to play the Heavy. I think that is great, because played well, it will no doubt be an incredible asset to the team. I think, however, that it will also be like the Light in the sense that many may try it, but quite a few will jump ship discovering that it requires skill/self-control some don’t have.

From what I have seen on various boards, is Heavies get dubbed as the “no skill” bodytype. Of course, the ones who claim this are coincidentally players that do not play or enjoy Heavy characters. Heavies take just as much skill to play effectively, just different skills.
I am looking forward to building a Heavy character (a bunch of them) and being that “incredible asset” you mentioned.
Medium body types would probably be the best. People who run and gun like to be lightweight, but sometimes forget that they don’t have a lot of health which makes them vulnerable and easy to attack. people who are heavy can take a lot of damage which they like if they are a spray and pray heavy weapons guy, but then complain when they can’t jump or run when they are in trouble. Medium body weights allow you to have the best of both worlds, but thats my personal opinion.

Even though I look forward to being light I can’t but help agree with H0RSE. Start medium then go light. Later try my hand at heavies so I know how they act.
You’re first character cannot be Light, since everyone starts out as Medium (Light and Heavy are not even an option until you level up more)
Sure he can, he just doesn’t start out as light.
I’m with Humate, play both extremes (and light first makes sense for the reasons he stated), and then (maybe by by the time you’re on your 3rd character or maybe earlier) if you think each sacrifices too much for the benefit go medium (you should have a feel for it having played if for 5 levels).
For my first character, I am changing to Heavy as soon as I can - not even going to try out Light.

I know that. I was implying the first opportunity that one gets to choose light or heavy - light is what will be picked first.
Same here. And any perks that would typically fit a heavy will be selected first as well.
…seriously, can you gimme the time LOL
