What are the odds.....

Yes. Fun had by all…except console owners. But they deserve it for playing a fps on a console!

I’d give my first born to play QW today . I’d love to kill console players, just for me to wipe that superiotic look off there face as I spank them in my anansi. Thats what they get for laughing at me when I bought my $2500 PC.

In all seriousness though a game dual developed for both the PC and console is a very bad thing for us PC gamers. When your developing for the PC the sky’s the limit, but when your developing for the console the limit’s the sky. So many things have to be simplified or removed to work properly with a console for not only mechanics but controlls, interface and oh so much more.

Play Station 3 has full mouse and keyboard support

With a expected retail price of 499 euro’s it will be a serious option for FPS gamers who now have a pc which is to slow to play the latest games.
So this means MORE FPS gamers and MORE QW players.

I only hope we can play on the same servers…

You know three fourths of them will never get a keyboard/mouse.

Edit: Do you mean any mouse and keyboard or only sony mice and keyboards?

The Doom3 engine already supports ps2-type controllers so I doubt much work would be needed in that area. Then again playing a fps with a controller is just wrong…

I dont think so, I play Halo all the time with xbox controller and its awesome, I’d prefer a keyboard and mouse, but I like the left trigger grenades makes for faster action then having to switch to them then throw them.

Halo PC is also like that, doesn’t have to do with the controller but how the game is designed. But I agree with you, controllers aren’t inherently bad for FPS even if they are worse than kyb/m IMO.

but I like the left trigger grenades makes for faster action then having to switch to them then throw them

that is realy just a game specific feature and has nothing to do with console or PC. farcry has a grenade button. although it would be nice to see more games using buttons like this as it can make for realy fast action. the best implementation of this iv ever seen is on killzone where holding the button cooks the grenade instead of just throwing it stright off

ea is pushing to release BF2142 before QuakeWars comes out and it’s slated for Fall 2006

Another rushed project, look at all the time they took on BF2 and how that turned out for bugs.

Also, from the previews I’ve seen its not a patch on ETQW, so no comparision.

I was just saying how a controller isnt completely worthless for FPS, off subject but I hope you can cook your grenades in QW, I like games that let you do that

I kinda liked the DF2 nades, you could choose between frag and delayed frag
