Hey ! It would be cool to listen to your own mp3’s in Enemy Territory !!!
Many games support “included” mp3 players (Half Life,CS,Tribes 2,…)
What do YOU think ? :drink:

you can find some little programs that will allow you to control winamp from inside RTCW, basically skip forward/backwards through playlist; stop, play, pause; volume control… try google for variations on “quakewamp”.
Native support would be much better though :bump:
download the older winamp, im using 2.80, it’s @ 2.91 now but dunno what that’s like. build a playlist, hit play and start playing et. some sort of volume and playback controls through console or keys would be nice, but if you dont have multimedia keyboard with em, there’s 3rd party programs that do the trick for most if not all q3 engine games.
%¤#! NO! If you want music while playing a team based game, use your stereo or something. I for one rely on hearing the enemy as much as I do seeing them, if not more. I kinda expect the people on my team to do that as well.
Complaint filed against you (3 more til kicked)
“wha? yeah well I didn’t notice your air strike coz I gut DUMP BAZKIT on!”
:banghead:
Hey the chiller dont mean that u (shr00ms) must use your build in mp3-player,…
I would like it too have a built in player and i am used to play with music,…sometimes it even helps
ahh yes and shr00ms,… I dont have the money for two stereos,… my computer is my stereo,… my stereo is connected to my computer so this isnt possible (to use stereo for music),…and what is your prob with it??
I am bored,…u just found a server and forget to start the musik,… or i want listen to a special song (hehe e. g. Metallica Seek´n Destroy). So I have to go out and this,… built in would be very nice
Great feature, great idea
BAD idea. RTCW doesnt need a CD-to run, anyone easily can put a CD and listen to it.
IMO anyone braging about having that kinda program on should get voted OFF the team. Dont mean to be a party pooper but, i DONT want mp3-happy idiots around me not listening to the game sounds or running into my artillary. there’s to much stuff going on that depend on sounds, like footsteps, to be listening to music.
LOL… some of you guys are way too harsh
I listen to Winamp every session of RtCW (or ET) that I play. Why? Because killing Nazi’s is so much more fun while listening to The Union Underground or some other rockin’ group.
I don’t think it’s a bad idea, just make sure if that if it’s put in, that it has a volume slider for the sound and have it preset at about half of the sound effects.(When I listen to Winamp I usually have it around 20% volume)
i listen to music always when i play, feels kinda weird without. i hear the footsteps and sounds even if the music is louder though, cos i got good headphones
and if i sometimes dont pay attention, well you dont aim with your ears u know, and i like the surprise, cos usually its he/she who falls down.
ow yeah, and there shouldn’t be able to turn of your speakers while playing
I play often without sound and if I run in your artillery, too bad, don’t care, I’m having fun
fretn
I have my Winamp on 50% and i have a script so that i can adjust the soundvolume of the game easily,… so with my volume of the stereo and the volume of the game, I can mix it right for the situation
to Maynard,… I think u are playing very often with mp3 happy idiots but u didnt noticed it. Why?? Look at the thread of kUUh and fretn. This game is not Counterstriks. In the WW-mod I need to hear footsteps. But in the most RTCW (ET) games I hear only medic, artillery and smgs and grens,… no footsteps
Ahhh and the MAIN thing,… people are different, brains are different,…I know a lot of people they are confused to listen to music and work or even drive… Then there is the thing of your soundmixing in your consciousness,…some people are able to differenciate better than other.
