And I will not be playing this (now) cluster fuck of a game again till something is done about phantom. I’m almost 40 yo…Been gaming since games existed, longer than a lot of gamers have been alive. What the FUCK where you guys thinking with the release of Phantom in his current state? :open_mouth: That just makes my eyeballs twitch. 30+ years of gaming comp-esque shooters- UT, UT2K4, Q3A, COD4 etc… not to mention all the non-competitive shooters, and this is just the goddamn dumbest thing I’ve ever seen a developer do with a game. (caveat, i haven’t played them all of course) Since the dawn of such things, invisible/stealth/cloaking game characters have had little health, no shields, weak offensive weapons and hard counters (plural) among other characters. I don’t need to list all the ridiculously OP stats he has, we all know that by now, even less than a day after his release. This shit may not be “game breaking”, but it IS “enjoyment/fun/player breaking.”

Re-texture/adjust Sparks model to look like Phantom, (80-90hp, no shield) give him the katana and the cloak, pistols/machine pistols as primary. Waaaay longer cool down on cloak, same as orbital laser/skyhammer strike perhaps. Done.

Maybe I’ll go dick around with the new Unreal Tournament till something happens with DB.

The Marksman from Killzone 3 probably has him beat. That was the campiest and most game-breaking class I’ve ever seen in FPS. He has a OHK sniper rifle, permanent cloak and a silenced tmp that allowed you to stay cloaked while firing it. The antithesis of fun.

We need new section called QQ BOMB. Everyone can go there n cry in that section,instead of general chat !

Well if you are rly that old you must know that new content usually dont come as something OP cause ppl just dont know how to deal with it, diferent from old console cartridge games, today stuff get fixed and updated with some reasonable time, im sure they will look at the Phantom situation and nerf/change acord to the data they gather, witch take some time.

Thank you for the reasonable and straight forward reply. If I was one to bitch about new content being OP, I would have been on the forums whining my ass off about Sparks when she was released. But…she’s not a ridiculously unbalanced character ripped from a bad CoD clone. That was obvious to me just watching streams, confirmed by playing with/against her. Phantom is a moutain dew fueled cod kiddo merc in his current state.

I am on board with the idea that atleast something will be adjusted with Phantom sooner or later. But this initial frustration and irritation is tough to swallow, and thus the reason I’m being a loud mouth.

If I didnt like the game, I wouldn’t waste my time coming here to complain, I have other things I can do, other games I could play. But this game, till now, has grabbed me like nothin else has in years.

I am testing him so far in order to make a valuable feedback. From what I tried, he’ll need tweaking for sure, but I can’t say that he’s plain and simple overpowered.

The first change I’d see is to make him go from 120 to 110 hp (same stats as Sawbonez). Then I’d harshly nerf the cooldown on his invisibility : going from 6 seconds to 12. His invisibility skill can be activated way too often. This is all I’d say so far.

Edit: Also when you start hitting 400k xp/level you need roughly 10 hours to get a level -> you = level 16 => 160 hours.

I’m level 23 and I got 230 hours, so I know.

To be fair, if they’re going to ignore someone’s arguments because they have a Phantom avatar, they’re also going to ignore someone’s arguments if they happen to defend Phantom.

You are level 40 yet don’t understand how to beat a Phantom? weird. He have his counters like everyone else and if you actually know them you can easily counter him. it really is as simple as that. He is strong, he really is. But op? No. i’d say he is just as strong as Fragger and Skyhammer.
