What a waste of time

I picked Bushy mainly for the hat. It’s a good hat

I found Phantom rather meh both to play as and to fight against. I went against quite a few guys with experience last night playing Phantom and he could be effective but not too terrible. I think he needs an HP nerf at most and possibly a longer CD on the cloak but that’s about it. And no, he won’t be my main as the character is fun when used properly (and not going for YOLO melee kills) but he will most likely go back on the shelf after a week.

Also, you probably don’t have 300 gameplay hours played if you’re level 16. I have 351 hours total and only maybe 20-25 of those are me accidentally leaving the game on. The rest is game time and I am level 37.

Amerika…why add the last parapgraph? What was the point of that?

@RuleofBooKz

Ironically enough my favorite mercs are Skyhammer, Fragger and Fletcher.

Proxy, sawbones, <and your alias image could be here!> ;p

(Nail) #26

aww, it’s too bad the 11,000 people playing don’t agree

(Conqelson) #27

A heck of a lot more played Brink but there was a moment when you could see it all going to hell, that was this week. This forum has a fair share of fanbois (so did Brink’s forum) but just look at the comments, reviews and videos elsewhere. It’s becoming a joke.

(Nail) #28

oh well, nice meeting you, maybe you can find a game that’s better suited to you

(Hibbsan) #29

That people still complain and say that Nader is OP is crazy. is it so hard to learn that you do NOT run up to a nader. Kill her and leave her or finish her off from a distance. i don’t think i have been killed by her martydom in weeks even though she have been free to play. And if you can’t handle that Phantom is a little strong, leave instead of whining on the forum.

(XavienX) #30

Well Brink on Steam has a mixed reviews while Dirty Bomb has mostly positive so I wouldn’t be so sure on that buddy.

Even Brink lasted longer.

Bye!

No loss losing someone who doesn’t want to learn how to play against the shift in playstyle.

Phantom isn’t really that much of a problem, if you are out in the open as you can backpedal faster than he runs. As long as he is outside the leap+right-click range you can beat him easy, if he wants to melee you (90% Phantoms).

If you are indoors or the Phantom plays more recon style (cloak + smg), then you are going to have a problem. Also if there are +2 Phantoms in the enemy team, but that’s true for almost any class (3 Fraggers, 3 Naders, 3 Proxies, 3 Rhinos).

  • Fix the 1-hit invincibility on shield.
  • Fix katana’s right-click.
  • Maybe drop his HP to 110 as the bastard has a KEK.

I don’t think he would be too crazy after that. Mainly because you would atually need to aim katana’s right-click. Maybe make it more lunge-like so that you get a small movement bonus when you use it, but it will lock your camera to certain direction and you get huge movement speed - after using it.

You know? Like it used to be at one point (skip to 4min 44s):

It’s not a shift, it’s a change which is different. When sparks was released she was useful and fun and no-one complained. Phantom just seems a bit off.

(Ghosthree3) #37

Are you kidding? I think 500 of my posts are bitching about release Sparks.

(Radford_343) #38

Its always sad to see someone leave a game which you play yourself. Hopefully you only need a break and will return later on. Perhaps with a different point of view.

Also wittyChicken’s tips are solid. Game-fatigue can hit anyone though, this may have been the final drop.

The game is in beta still, not all mercs are out. He is far from over powered. In hands of a good player especially against a poor team he is annoying, but to quit because of that?

A lot of weapons one shot medics and other squishy classes: a sniper headshot, grenades, sticky grenades, shotguns, mines.

A Phantom on the field means you need to watch your back more, but heart beat sensor, some in-game communication (VOIP), mines and explosives counter him well. Watch each other back, don’t stand to close to each other (good against explosives and air strikes too) and think when you play.

Also I understand Red Eye (unreleased merc) infra red goggles is going to counter him even better than heartbeat sensor.

It’s pretty much shit now, I barely log in anymore. I’m actually one of the guys that spends a lot too, the niche demographic that actually pays for the game and funds future content. What does that say.
