I re-installed RTCW last week, and have come really unstuck with reviving. I’d got used to the “drive-by” revive in ET, but you can’t do it in RTCW. The revive hit-box is so enormous in ET (compared to RTCW) that reviving is almost as simple as just waving your needle vaguely towards the patient, crouching or standing. In RTCW you have to crouch and you have to hit them pretty much mid-torso as well.

Do I really have to write that I was fighting in time gaps? How do u think I got shot down, expert? Try thinking a few times.

When somebody taps out without real reason (like out of ammo with no other job), I ussually spam v6 I’M A MEDIC!

Yes but TK revive only if u’re not in combat. Otherwise u can easily end up dead right before u revive ur mate.

Better practice bunnyhop revive. If u can jump right on the corpse, u will ALWAYS revive if u press fire at the right time. And u get another jump to get to safety before anyone can shoot u.

You don’t need to give Max tips on playing Medic, he’s one of the best I’ve ever seen / played with

(Maximus191) #24

I’ve also started playing again alot more now Kendle m8.
See you on the servers \o/

(mouse) #25

ehmm, i never do drive-by revives or bunny hop revives, does this make me a noob? :frowning: I will try it btw, didnt know it was so much better

(Kendle) #26

Nice 1, just take it easy m8. Hope to feel your prick in me soon

(evilsock) #27

Just means you can get out of the way faster without crouching - I’ve never tried the bunny-hop version - i doubt your a n00b tbh mouse

your man has 3 seconds of invunerability with the enemy in his line of sight

Hehe ‘in his line of sight’ is a little hit and miss though. It doesn’t seem as bad with ETPro, I dont know if Bani changed anything, but in the normal ET game after I get revived I always get faced in a random direction. That’s bugged me since the game came out, you’ll be laying there dead looking at this enemy, you get revived and are facing the enemy the whole time and getting ready for your bloke to ‘wake up’ and be able to start shooting, and then suddenly right at the very last second you get turned 180 degrees and are facing a wall. I can’t even count the number of times I’d get revived and ready to shoot the guy in my sights, and then get faced in a totally different direction, and by the time I get my barings and work out which way I need to turn, the invulnerability wears off and the guy kills me again. But like I said, ETPro this seems to have been fixed a bit and I don’t get the problem anywhere near as much.

(EvilBaga) #29

I dont consider that a “fix” … If you just had the stuffing knocked out of you and were revived by a medic youd be disoriented. I think that simulated that. Frankly, I prefered it.

What’s up fellow n00bs? I’ve been on vacation for a little over a week, I missed discussion in my own thread :frowning:

Anyway… ghost… jeez how old are you?

Oh and no, I no longer have my own server… not enough “business” to keep it running. Tough to keep em full. :drink:

I agree with pretty much everyone else on here… I just really made this thread as a reminder to everyone that it’s just a game (not that you guys need to be reminded, though, sometimes some people do) and we’re all here to have fun. While it’s obvious the game is a lot more fun with great teamwork, you have to realize you’re not always going to get it. Especially playing in random pubs. Let’s just be realistic about that. Regardless, there’s no need to get upset with either n00b players, or players who at that moment in time feel they have something more important to do than give you ammo/health/revive whatever it may be. There’s no reason to go nuts on the v21 keystrokes. I don’t want to hear your abuse the medic vsay because someone else isn’t “doing his job”. Just be courteous, play nice and remember…

we’re not here to serve you.

It would be a good idea to serve up a revive if you’re on Axis on Seawall Battery and the engineer is laying dead between you and the dynamite encrusted gun controls is spamming for a medic.

It would be a good idea to serve up ammo for the mg42 allies spamming for ammo to keep the engineers off the gun on Railgun. But the Axis wouldn’t have gotten the ammo if you weren’t busy thinking about yourself instead of the team, would they?

(Depth_Charge) #32

He isn’t saying that you shouldn’t help people it just gets annoying when someone goes:

“I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!
I Need Ammo!”

We don’t play the game to be slaves to panzers, engs, etc
Sorry for the spam just trying to prove a point

(Oxygen - o2) #33

its even worse when the server admin has made a big limit to how many vsays a min u can say and they keep spamming, if im a medic and they keep spamming i dont revive them, if they complain i gib them

if sum1 complains against me for a tk revive i dont revive them at all

(Societal Eclipse) #34

I don’t know about you guys but sometimes I hope that if I stare someone right in the face and spam v22 three or four times they’ll suddenly slap their forehead and go, “Wait! I’m a medic!” Of course obviously there are lost causes out there that haven’t caught on and you just have to run elsewhere or /kill.

(amazinglarry) #35

Sadly if you go in my face and spam v22 (I need ammo!) three or four times… I’m going to respond with v6 (I’m a medic!) and then you’ll slap your forehead and go, “Wait I’m a moron!” and you’ll go looking for a Field Ops… :stuck_out_tongue:

@Riftgarde - Are you serious? Of course a Medic should raise the engineer who’s dead between the med and the dynamite planted at the gun controls… but the engineer shouldn’t have to spam “Need a Medic!” one hundred times to get it across either. It should be a pretty obvious thing that if you want to win the map, you’ll raise the player who has the ability to save the game at that moment in time.

Never once did I imply we’re only thinking about ourselves… it’s entirely not my fault you took it out of context. You can still be a great teamplayer without spamming like some 8 year old kid who thinks he’s the best… bah, it’s not worth trying to explain myself if people are just gonna give it a play on words… at least some people get it…
