Am I the only one getting not so good feelings about SD hiring people for BRINK this close to release? I am guessing that BRINK will be pushed back even furthur if they are needing people still in these areas of development

A beta will make up for the delay. (If there is one)

The whole “for Brink” sounds disturbing. “For Brink and future projects” would be much better.

(Nail) #6

It could just mean they want to add more content before release, remember SD said they could ship for Christmas and Bethesda said wait, they may have decided to open more areas of the Ark.

Howdy SD Forums;
Well i doubt that you guys are hiring overseas developers, but i guess it doesn’t hurt to say that i am an aspiring game developer with;

[ul]
[li]more than 3 years experience with Source Engine/Hammer World Editor
[/li][li]6 months experience in UDK
[/li][li]over 1.5 years experience with E-on Software’s Vue
[/li][li]more than 7 years experience in Photoshop
[/li][li]about 9 years experience with DAWs like Sony ACID & FL Studio
[/li][li]about the same with Sony Vegas
[/li][li]6 years experience with WorldBuilder (Command and Conquer Level Editor)
[/li][li]more than 4 years experience with HTML and web design.
[/li][li]I am also quite fluent in Windows Batch programming, advanced (mass) file management and have attempted to learn C++ for about a year or so, however C++ is where i start to get lost in the near hyper mathematics of it all
[/li][/ul]
I am also a music composer and foley designer, a photographer, texture artist, level designer and project leader for a now almost near dead game (not enough people to help us).

Some of my stuff can be seen on

[/li][li]http://soundcloud.com/jenkins
[/li][li]http://moddb.com/mods/toxisresiduum
[/li][/ul]
I also have my own portfolio online aswell, which i won’t post here because of privacy reasons, however feel free to PM me if you would like to see it.

I consider myself to be a bit of a ‘jack of all trades’, however i don’t think companies are looking for people like that, i honestly don’t know because i don’t know anyone in the business personally.

I am working towards going to Qantm University in Australia and doing a Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment with a Major In Games Design, however it is very expensive and at the moment i wouldn’t be able to afford to attend.

Anyway good luck to anyone who does apply for a job at SD!

Cheers, Jenkins

Its good news, see the UI description.

Demonstrable appreciation of User Interface hurdles for PC versus console

As long as you are willing to move to the UK and are good enough, being from far, far, far, far away doesn’t matter that much* :).

*though this may depend on the type of job/length of the contract @ SD

:stroggtapir:

“UI Artist” recall good sentimentally-valuable memories
wish luck such position-employed future SD member.

i guess its HARDLY depend on Brink sales.
so if something screw Brink success, there can be “No future project” state for SD :[
so cross you finger and help SD not f…p their chance.

(xTriXxy) #11

no part time Splash Damage Mascot position? :frowning:

(Slade05) #12

Salteh has it, for like 5 years, the bastard.

(brbrbr) #13

so, he is master-Tapir ?
ie, model for other future Tapirs ?

(Trig_) #14

God I’d love this job, screwing around with symbol and UI creation is what I do. If SD could just hold off from hiring anyone for about a year, that would be great … you guys can wait another year for brink can’t you? I just need some time to make up a portfolio and learn flash.

(brbrbr) #15

if you fingercross ser-iously about Brink commercial success, guess what… SD may need TWO[or ten, but unlikely at this stage ;]UI designer/creator/developer.

(Trig_) #16

I’ll make sure I’m ready for their next game… W:ET 2 w/Smart. Parkour Nazis.

(brbrbr) #17

nono, thats should be DLC for new title “Mirror Badge II: Barkour Barblivion”, after ZM re-purchase rights to Mirror Edge IP from EA.
and/or some other titles, like “World of Quake III: Judment Bay”.
