u know the bullets that u see when your shooting, or someones shooting u, well i need to get rid of that, cuz it lags me when im in firefights. the prob is i cant seem to turn them off, i went into options turned off coronas and such (bullets still there), redid my autoexec 3 times with lookin at every cmd (still there), so any help please?

Nope, you want cg_brasstime 0. Enter it in the console or add it to \etmain\profiles[i]yourname[/i]\etconfig.cfg.
he said bullets, not shells. cg_brasstime just sets the amount of time a shell casing gets displayed, if set to 0 the game engine will skip all shell ejection code.

first of all, set these to 0, they won’t get rid of the bullet trace, but it will help ur gameplay:

u might try setting fastsolids to 0, see what it does. i’ve never tried to turn the traces off.
what’s ur system specs. i’m sure getting rid of the bullet traces isn’t going to significantly help ur fps.
256 ram, 550 mhz processor 32mb graphics card, so ya it effects my game, dont even meet sys reqs 
550 ? What exactly is THAT ? I’ve heard of a 500 and a 533, but a 550 is an interesting one. I had an AMD 500 K2 that I bumped up to 550 but I would say your biggest problem is the cpu. It doesn’t matter if its AMD or Intel, a 550 (sic) has seen better days. Its just not able to pump out enough horsepower to play ET, especially if you want to live long enough to shoot back at someone. I hate to say it time for an upgrade … but …

With AMD 1700s going for $46, add to that a cheap ECS board that uses SDRAM (yea, I know, you don’t have to tell me) and you can get things playing well for about $100.
yea, i would say that upgrading is ur best option. even if there weren’t any textures in ur config (not allowed btw) with really crappy geometric modeling, then u’d still have problems :\
