Weird in-game fps choppiness

(smash85) #1

I’m trying to play ET on my new laptop: Dell XPS L502X
W7 Home Premium, i7-2670QM @2.20GHz, 8G RAM. I am having weird in-game choppiness which is visible in the lagometer

Anyone know what is causing this ?

Hi Smash85 and welcome to the forum. Do you get the same choppiness when you play other online shooters?

Try to play alone. Also open your console and write “devmap oasis” (“set g_gametype 4; vid_restart; devmap oasis” when you get a error message).

When you have the same lags, start et with these parameters: " +pb_cl_disable"

Also my start ähm “verknüpfung”:

“C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\ET.exe” +set fs_game ue +set r_mode -1 +set r_customwidth 1920 +set r_customheight 1080 +set com_hunkmegs 256 +set g_gametype 8 +pb_cl_disable

Good luck

I looked around and found the solution:

The problem comes from NVidia graphics settings, I just needed to turn off the thread optimization from the NVidia control panel. The game runs smooth now.

VSync forced Off if you still experience it, and Disable deskptop composition in ET.exe settings if still
