Weapon Suggestion: Sawed Off Shotgun

Just had an idea, what if the light body types were given a light shotgun like the scout in Team Fortress 2? The range and damage would be limited, but I think it’s a pretty decent idea.

What do you guys think?

another game is coming out that will have this…NO shotguns for lights, please.

I think the lights are much to limited with only SMG’s, I think they deserve something that is for their weight only like the heavies with the “Gotlung” gun.

Would it be fun as heck to be a light with a shotgun? Hell yeah! Would it run counter to the overall Team Aspect of the game. Big time. Hence why they are limited with weapon selection. I bet peeps would be bitch’n and complaining, but instead of buffing the Heavy, there is a very real other way they could go…be careful what you wish for.

SMG’s are some of the most powerful weapons in the game and lights have access to them, why not a shotgun with an extremely limited range?

I think because of the light’s parkour ability and speed, it runs the risk of making the game close quarters. Which is fine, it’d just dominate play. You’d see even less diversity of playstyle. Just drop down from above as a light with shot gun and blast players. I like that sort of thing, but it’d become the norm. It just runs the risk of making the game even more only about lights.

I think everything is suppose to be weighted in terms of strengths and weakness. Lights are suppose to be weak at facing opponents and pushing in the open. Give them a shot gun, and they can also hide; get to spots, and camped them.

It may have even been tested. Like on Sectow. Light with shotgun. Wait on the wall. Enemy comes, drop down and one shot them. Rinse and repeat.

Please I want trained bats that can… lets say scout the enemy team! Oh wait, we already got comms hack… But I want them anyway!

Maybe they could make have a five second reload time along with the smaller damage/range?

They actually tried trained bat during the testing but they proved to be really hard to balance.

i think no, more opportunity to make the lights OP? i think not.

i wouldnt mind a shot pistol ( a pistol that fires shotgun rounds and they do exist) but meh.

Agreed. Make it a secondary weapon. So instead of a revolver, you have a double barrel sawed off shotgun. Two shots then need to reload. Hampered range, wide spread. It might not even be that effective to newbies or those who prefer to spray and pray. But I would love it. I am a glutton for punishment.

i roll with pump action shottie, crossbow and tomahawks on BLOPS. I like a challenge.

My opinion on sawed off shotguns is that the look doesn’t match Brink, and that double barrel shotguns aren’t used anymore outside of skeet because they just aren’t practical for anything other than long barrel shotguns. Pump action is superior in pretty much every area.

A super shorty on the other hand might make sense.
