Weapon Stats (& rate of fire?)

(Hydra) #41

Well, ofcourse you are always welcome to post the link on other boards etc., it’s not like I have the copyright on that information

No. MP40 and Thompson are exactly and completely and totally the same in every respect apart from the sound they make (and their appearance obviously). Same rate-of-fire, same damage, same accuracy, etc.

However as an ex-RTCW player I always preferred the MP40 and still can’t help but prefer it in ET (though of course I only get one as Allies by picking one up from a dead Axis).[/quote]

You are so very wrong go read the stats on the guns for ET. They say that the Thompson has a slow rate of fire ,is less accurate, but is stronger then the mp 40

And the mp 40 has a faster rate of fire, pluse has better accuracy, but has a little less percent of damage on the body.

Please point out where in the code you think this is. :moo:

What’s with the Carbine and KAR98 data in that Code? Are those weapons which were never implemented, or are they weapons to a mod?

(Bludd) #45

Well the kar98 is the technical name of the mauser, which was in rtcw, so that’s prolly just a leftover. Dunno, could be stuff that was abandoned.

BTW MADDOG, numbers don’t lie, lol. You may think the tommy and mp40 have differences, however they do not. Grab the source code and have a look-see. I used to be certain there were accuracy differences when I did wallmark tests, at different ranges each one seemed to have benefits according to the patterns. But the bottom line is, the code uses the same numbers for each, therefore the only diff is the skin and the sound. You could flip the skins and sounds and they would still be the same. A rose by any other name… etc. I could make a squirtgun skin with water sounds and it’s still an mp40/tommy.

What the ET source code calls WP_CARBINE is the ally’s Garande rifle (for engineer).
