We need a way to modernize rare Gen 1 loadouts to Gen 2 without RNGrinding.

(Equanimity) #61

Better than nothing, and greedy enough to work for a f2p game. All I’m sayin’.

(Cletus_VanDamme) #62

Bump. Don’t forget the people who made your game SD, the paying customer.

(MarsRover) #63

Not really, at least not at this moment. A relatively small group of Founders buyers and 1 year of F2P monetization is not enough to cover 4+ years of development. IMO Dirty bomb is still in the red.
Hey guys,

I just posted in another thread regarding this, but I am going to paste it here too:

This is a big concern for us as well, your Special Edition, Obsidian, etc. cards not being “worth” anything anymore because they are obsolete.

As a long term goal, we are looking into how to keep these cards relevant.

I have no more information to share about this at this time however, sorry about that. I just want let you guys know we share the same concerns about this.
Sooo… what you’re basically saying that my Obsidian Phoenix will be not somewhat useless in the future?

Assume nothing. Base your decisions on what’s in the game right now - no trading, bling cards becoming obsolete.

Anything’s possible.

(Xenithos) #67

People like Sniff have a priceless inventory, regardless of Obsidians, etc, because they’ve invested so much in it…

(Xenithos) #68

@MarsRover
A few of Arty’s old loadouts are still better than the 2nd gen, I believe I’ve posted about it as well.
But yeah, overall, 2nd gen has been a great impact to the game for fuctionality, but for previous super rare cards, it has devalued them greatly.

(dlux) #69

I don’t care about trading, and trading is probably months if not years away.
I just want to play with the load of cards I have, and not feel like i’m using something subpar just to have some eyecandy.

#70

Founders and Obsidian cards will not be tradeable.

(n-x) #71

@Kirays If I remember correctly, only the Beta fighters and the original Obsidians are definitely not tradeable. They are not sure what’s going to happen with the new Obsidians (Phoenix and in the meantime the second Proxy).

#72

I’m sure @RazielWarmonic can give us more insight on that.

(RazielWarmonic) #73

There are no concrete plans for trading yet.

(bontsa) #74

I dont know why are some people so energized over trading. What are you planning to trade and to what exactly?

3 Bronzes to 1 Silver // 4 Silvers to 1 Gold // 6 Golds to 1 Cobalt

1 Cobalt is hence 72 Bronzes, 24 silvers. And thats just value of a random Cobalt, have fun trying to obtain 383 Sparks or any other specific one in exact Cobalt skin you want. Not to mention event skins, woo bloody hoo.

I ain’t an expert in game market/price systems, but looks like prices’ll be ridicule with simply trading cards, unless some base “currency” etc is introduced. And to be honest with this RNG system with skins and performance tied together in screwed up way, even so it seems nothing would change except that ones milking valuables wont be Nexon anymore but some few players here and there too.

(doxjq) #75

@RazielWarmonic I do recall someone (maybe shoe?) speaking about special edition cards a few weeks back, saying he was thinking about introducing a system where people could upgrade their special edition cards to gen2 to make them useful (since there is no way we can trade these in)

Hypothetically speaking, if trading was an actual feature, is it even possible to make some kind of dropbox for upgrading? It wouldn’t even have to be for special edition cards but perhaps just any, where like the current trade in method it just has a window for you to drag and drop and card and then click “upgrade to generation 2” or something for a fee of 10,000 credits or something.

Seems like a really simple method to me, if it was possible.
Honestly, I don’t mean to be hostile by saying this, but I’m getting a bit tired of seeing people cry out when SD/Nexon make a large change and people play the “I payed money” card on it. I’ve paid for cases as well (ReV), but when I did so, I understood that I was paying money into an Open Beta. This means there may be rather large tweaks over the game’s lifespan, and although Nexon has made basic promises (no more account resets), things I pay money for may be changed. Now, a second generation of loadout cards are coming, and people are upset that the cards they put money into may be outclassed.

I personally think the second gen cards are necessary. There are some cards that will just never be good (2/3rds of Sparks cards), and some augments (Pineapple Juggler) that will never be useful, no matter how much “balancing” goes into place. On the bright side, if trading ever comes out (if), then even crap first gen silver+ cards may be valued by collectors simply for the rarity.

tl;dr Paying for things in a game clearly marketed as an Open Beta can have changes like this. Yes, it’d be consumer friendly for SD to do something like this, but I honestly don’t think they will. Yeah, it kind of sucks, but first gen shinies may be immensely valuable some day. If not, oh well.
Outclassed in loadout or ability because the weapons stil the same except for the loadout and ability.

(watsyurdeal) #77

So if I can be honest here, I think the under lying problem that rustles people’s jimmies, is getting the cosmetic look that they want.

Personally I don’t give a damn about rarity so much as I do about how cool the skin looks on a gun. Functionality wise I could always go with a Bronze card and be fine, but I have a particular theme I want for my cards.

Assault Mercs - Chrome Cobalt
Recon Mercs - Blue Cobalt
Fire Support Merc - Red Gold
Medic Mercs - Crown Gold
Engineer Mercs - Bamboo Gold

That’s really all I am going for, and I think after all this time of trying to get the cards I want only for them to reset…I am happy that most of my cards haven’t changed drastically. But rather there are new cards that I want, like a M4 Fragger with Spares and Drilled, a Crotzni Phoneix with Potent Packs and Healing Radius.

Maybe it’s just me, but I would MUCH rather pay 5 or even 7.50 NOW for the card I exactly want than keep gambling.

I’d even pay 50,000 credits for the card I want, we’re just straight up sick of RNG determining so much, our cards, weapon spread, people like a clear consistent goal. Life is random enough as it is, and for something we enjoy in our spare time we really do not need all this extra gambling.

You want cases, fine, but at the very least make merc specific ones already.

(nokiII) #78

Weekly bump.

(Cletus_VanDamme) #79

+1. Lol at poor children disagreeing with the FACT that the paying customer keeps this game alive.

Do you think your credits used when trading up pay for the servers @NetflixandKill ?

SD - Cmon, try to have some class and business sense. You don’t fuck over the people who pay for a F2P game, that’s idiotic. No soon bullshit, allow people who’ve spent a certain amount of money on this game to upgrade any generation 1 loadout card to the generation 2 version for FREE, NOW!

Whoever is the moron that didn’t see this as being a problem should be given a written warning or sacked, you CANNOT afford this incompetence.

(dlux) #80

Bump.
