With Splash Damage changing from a purely PC developer to a multi-platform studio, we needed somebody with a vast amount of console experience to spearhead our efforts. Our search is now over, and we’re extremely pleased to announce that Fable II lead designer Richard ‘Rahdo’ Ham has joined Splash Damage as Creative Director. In his new position, Richard will drive the vision and lead the design team behind our current project.
Beyond Fable II, Richard brings a staggering 15 years of industry experience to Splash Damage. He was the creative lead on the hugely popular Syphon Filter series for the original PlayStation, and worked on a multitude of other games across all major platforms, including the first successful adaption of The Sims for consoles, and the PC titles Fable: The Lost Chapters and The Movies. We’re so excited to have Richard here with us that we dedicated an entire press release to him - roll your eyeballs up and down it to find out all about the man and our official reasons for bringing him aboard (for all the others, check out his staff interview).

Rogue Warrior isn’t us, though personally I can’t wait for it for two reasons:

  1. freeform sandbox story driven CO-OP shooter. yum, especially the co-op part! i secretly hope it’s something like the stand-alone co-op levels that were in the last two GRAW games, but actually tied together it a big massive story that me and friends can all play through together.

  2. how many games do you get to play a main character named Dick? Sweet!

p.s. man I wish I could talk about our game, but talking about others will do in a pinch!

Don’t let us stop you! Just blame it on a newbie mistake, all you’ll have to do is buy the office donuts for a week or summin.

On coop subject, I’m glad of the recent spate of coop games rearing their heads. Left 4 Dead is great fun with the right people, and Resident Evil 5 looks awesome as well. One of the things that attracted me to getting a 360 is the coop games, quite a lack of them on the PC these days… though hopefully will change soon.

Ok Rahdo, just noticed you’ve knocked me out of the top 20 on the XBL leaderboard when you joined… now my 240 points are meaningless.
