Hi! I am doing mod for ET , I have used some features from theese forums (I will give credits , do not fear) , and I need help (How original :-))
For first I have to list done features see it:
*Changed covert disguise handling (more realistic , no disguise loosing , also alowed to revive enemy players , and you can make mistake and revive Enemy Cvops , there is also 4XP penalty for enemy reviving…)
*Changed damage of all weapons to more realistic values
*Helm save much more damage , but snipers are much stronger , one headshot is enought.)
*allowed fire from leaning (REQUEST! - need to add animation , so I need to help with both parts - source and modeling , this is really needed , if you are interested , please help!)
*music (you should have RTCW , don´t want to do ilegal distributions… HELP -exiting limbo in any way stops music , can´t find why)
*painsounds
*want to do gibs , but they don´t work (never mind I don´t need help)
*allowed thirdperson (need HELP , i need to lower crosshair in thirdperson view)
*panzerfaust no longer have flame - just team colored smoke , but thicker (using smoke signal)
*weapons have smoke when firing (using Sten code)
*You can add bot (HELP replace AAS system , or make ET AAS builder)
*tweaks - you can´t fire when you are on ladder (HELP how to push weapon down , i wanted to use pushdown from lean code but don´t know which state (condition) is used for it
*added overhead icon for Laggers (NOT tested)
*used fixes from SplashDamage forums

If you can help , please write something…

Okay now say a medic heals a co ops and he loses 4xp wont he iddmediatley be able to tell?

IMO take out the 4xp loss. Getting shot up/owned because you were dumb enough to accidently revive an enemy is punishment/embarassment enough. No need for the XP loss. Also, won’t give away coverts if an enemy revives one, because the medic will not lose XP. Therefore, adds even more realism.

Just a few thoughts…

If you’re changing the damage of the weapons to be more realistic, you’re gonna have to overhaul the weapons to balance it out. No one’s gonna use the rifles if the SMGs do similar damage if you don’t change around the accuracies and fire rates of the weapons.

if you let players revive enemies, you better have the ability to shove corpses (but, unlike shrub, not through walls). You should probably also improve the detection of which player gets revived, because it isn’t always the one who looks like he is on top.

New weapons : M1 Carbine for Medic (Need model)
Kar98 for Axis medic (All clear , but I want carbine for allied medic too…)
STG 44 for soldier (Need skinning / animating)
BARfor soldier (Need skinning / animating)
Bazooka (need model )
UPDATED , so not send some not needed models , yeah I know that you will never send me models , but I just don´t want to recieve something what I have…

So , then … well … Now I have tried what I could , and ended on modelling …
But you can still help me.
Don´t fear i will give you credits and it will be “open source” (no SD license break , but downloadable sources)
I need mainly coder (Wolf ET sources are my first C project , never worked with it before…)
Then you can be texturer and modeler , they are very important for project too…
My main target is : Adding leaning anim and complete this feature
Ironsights
then adding new weapons , realism and mainly FUN (but realistic fun , sorry … no humor)

You’ll be lucky. We’re having trouble recruiting modellers, and we’ve got quite a bit to show for what we’ve already done.

Recruiting is pretty hard job… but team of experienced modelers , level editor and coders can do wonderfull things (so this is why most mods only improves gameplay , and mostly only a bit…)
New models and big features are only in few mods,
You were wery lucky , so keep good work…
Off topic , is PoP going to be a mix of Call of Duty and Enemy Territory ?

It’s going to be a mix of some ideas from different games (including CoD) plus a few we dreamed up ourselves.
We wanted to make the mod for CoD, but several aspects made it more hassle than it was worth: the inability to use MD3 mapmodels, no model animation in MP, and the clincher - we got no help from the devs (Infinity Ward) when a patch disabled a lot of our scripters’ work ( I think we had a mobile MG42 working before anyone else, but the first patch stopped it from working).
Splash Damage, on the other hand, have been very helpful when needed. :drink:

It should be noted that for similar reasons, a couple of other mods left CoD, and some failed entirely, around the time we switched to ET.

Yes , but I like few features in COD , bone animation in hud weapons , and pixel shader support (but it´s not so usable without good specular…)

This is about the only thing I REALLY miss from CoD. The biggest issue I had with CoD is having to jump through several hoops just to convert the models after exporting from the modelling program. And, as a consequence of that converted format, not being able to import the in-game models to see how they’re put together. This latter problem meant that when I wanted to change a hand grenade model, but use the existing animations, it took me about a week of trail and error to get the grenade model situated properly in the hands.

AFAIK, you’ll have to do it the same way as any other weapon part. Bearing in mind the 7 or 8-part limit, you won’t be able to get anything worth using.

lol , best will be use vertex anim like in HUD head , but i fear it will not work… Never mind…
Is that thompson in ET model m1 ? (I´ve got nice picture , but can´t make skin from it , but it looks nice with pog´s thompson skin , I must contact him !)
