Is it giving more fps or what? Those features included in mod are hmm very standard in other mods.

Make sure you have no expectations, and you cannot be dissappointed!

Finally NM you made a release, I will test it, probably I will enjoy it

Nice to see still new mods.
Haven’t read the sites yet.
But I have a name suggestion:
cleanET: Special Ability

Short:
CET:SA
Reads like the french “c’est ca”.
Haven’t found a better word than “ability” for the A.

[edit]
May be:
Standard Alternative”

RTFM dude. It has good reasons for only choosing standard features. But you are free to use whatever mod you want as a codebase when you happen to decide to create a mod for yourself. Me was not happy with the codebases i had to choose from.

And btw: there are major security issues in some mods still not fixed. They only get workaround by lua scripts at the moment. So i guess that mod even has something, what some mods do not have

Thanks buddy  PROBABLY ^^

But there is no must. I have also other mods in the planning, so this mod here is not my BIG snipershot, or my: “hey look what i have done” mod. But i guess some will find it useless nontheless. You cannot help those people i guess, and i am too lazy to convince them

Yeah, i was always bad with names. But why exactly do you come up with a new name suggestion. Probably cet:sa, or et:sa ? But that would have to make me rewrite my whole inet presence with the hp and stuff. Not worth it i guess … or too late ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Hi, things change. cleanET no longer should be known as “the mod improving ETSDK”, it is now to be considered as the overall project name for 1, at most 2 branches dedicated to improving ET. I have changed some descriptions according to this on my HP, but that is secondary.

The new branded mod, is now known as etplus, which continues where cet_v0.3.3 stopped.

***Latest news ***

Download etplus 0.3.4: http://sourceforge.net/projects/cet/fil … p/download
(testers desperately needed, no tests mean further delay)

Feature list:

AI Support (Omnibot)
Hitsounds
Playershove
alot of bugfixes/security fixes

Well, as said in the quote, no tests mean further delay, even if it just a feedback of “hey things work so far” i would be extremely happy. I am especially eager to know if everything works on linux. OS hell inc.

edit: probably some mod can replace the forum title with just “cleanET”, would make things easier.

(Shownie) #8

etplus, that came from me

peace!

(Gir) #9

Is this a Full Source Mod

(acQu) #10

Nope.

The second branch, if it will ever be brought into existance, would deal with engine stuff. But at the moment i do not really feel like doing engine stuff, since 1) i do not have the knowledge and 2) i want to do my own mod, with my own awesome ideas

[edit] oh and i would need lots of time …

You mean, you have no Programming Knowledge?

(acQu) #14

Yes, that mod right here is a skinning mod, unfortunately i did not have the time to throw in colorful pics and stuff …

(acQu) #16

No, i would need to read ALOT of code for this, to improve it. That is what i mean with knowledge. Also i would grab myself some more books and get me more knowledge: engines touch alot about programming actually. Programming is not just programming here. There is network programming, graphics programming and many more.

Of course you could just go ahead and search a little for small fixes in the engine, or even go ahead and just do things and make your project buggy, inperformant aka laggy, and generally make things worse, do stuff where you have actually no clue about etc

(acQu) #19

Yes (and no). I will need alot of experience to change the things i want, and that means i need more time, specifically more freetime. Theoretically i see no problem there, it is just a matter of will.

I am looking for some ET Enthusiasts with Decent Programming Skills to works on a New ET Build, whom care more about Gameplay and Less about Graphics.

These are the Things that ET would Really Benefit from

  1. Faster Foliage/Atmosphere System ( Even on my Quad Core, the FPS goes below 50-40)
  2. Faster Effects ( Airstrikes can reduce FPS by as much as 90%)
  3. Improved Overall Framerate
  4. Improved Networking, more Responsive, less Ping.
  5. Improved User Interface
  6. Improved Security
