W:ET VampireMod Project

HeyHo,

I’d like to get back to modding, so I was hoping some people are willing to join my project.

Project name: Wolfenstein: Vampire
About the project:

Modding team: Blood²
Two Teams: Vampires, hunters
Gametype: The hunters need to eliminate the vampires within a certain period of time(?)

features; New maps, weapons, models, movements, gadgets

Any suggestions are welcome, also reply if you think no one needs another mod on ET.
And if you want to apply for the project, let me know.

Team Conversion (RTCW mod) comes to my mind.
May be vampires can convert hunters to vampires by “killing” them.

Hmm, maybe something like stunning the hunters, and then biting them.
However, as dynamic teams might be difficult, it seems like a nice challange. That would mean a different scoreboard, not seperated in two team rows, but just two rows with an extra tab of the player team.

any other suggestions?

I would like to do some modding again.
But I’m not a coder.

I can do some modeling & skinning etc.
and I’m pretty good with sounds & ideas.

Alright, let’s get this started then.
We can already make a head start with coding, modeling, sounds, so the maps can come later.

If we need to, we could use some existing modified models, and change them from there.

Weapon suggestions: crossbow, simple bow, silver knife, wooden dagger, fists (or nails), original game colt.
I think a lot of players will like this mod, but Im a person that likes realistic, so I wont play it too much.
I can also do some mapping on my free time :smiley:

i like realistic to crossbow is a great idea

what about a buddhism mod ^^
if you do not kill someone you did a good life => if you are dead you get a better animal or whatever xD
if you kill others you end as an fly after your dead xD
( ´just an idea ! go on with your vampire mod ^^ do not listen to that stupid isbowhten xD )

for a map: the return to castle wolfenstein castle, or like the dungeon part of it, with the zombies.

Idk if anyone has ever played the warcraft fronzen throne mod on counter strike, but maybe add special effects such as teleportation(teleporting you to place you’re aiming at) or silent run, higher jumping, … ?

The vampire mod project was started years ago, and I’d just wanted to resume it. As far as I know, there’s no vampiremod on W:ET yet, and I just like the ‘mystic’ features of vampires, and the ‘coolness’ of vampireslayers.

Some weapon ideas I got:

  1. –Sword (able to cut an enemy in half (or behead)

  2. -Pushgun (give a push to the enemy knocking him far far away)

  3. -Ultrasound weapon (will detroy the enemy’s hearing/plus does damage (his sound will stop or be very soft/distorted)

  4. -AA12 (full automatic shotgun)

  5. -Homing missle (will track an enemy even through wall, will explode on impact wall or enemy)

  6. -Bounce gun (will fire balls that will explode only on impact with players or after 6 bounces on wall/floor)

  7. -Claymore (bomb with highexplosion / scrapnel charge, can be place on the ground and will explode when any player get’s near the front)

  8. -Cluster bomblauncher, (will fire 5 bombs that explode after a few second, each in to 5 more bombs with will spread out and explode

  9. -M82A with explosive round (upon impact a player still has 2 seconds to life, then boom!

  10. -Kamikaze (big boom, cost executioner his life, has 2 or 3 sec warmup time)

Why not make a “Worms” mod (make all kind of fun weapons that worms 2 used)

I like the weapon ideas, but I’d rather stick with a vampiremod, since the maps are simply too small for worms weapons. Also we would have to create a ‘turn-based’ gametype, since it would be too messy if we implent these weapons in realtime.

What makes ET such a good game, are the objectives.
There is no other game, with such an amount of maps, which all got objectives to solve. If its to steal/destroy/escort … whatever it is.
So imho any mod built for et, should use that. Else (I think) ioquake3 is a better base.

What would be very interesting is a mix between, Natural Selection/Tremulous and et.
For what I think vampires are perfect - ain’t any aliens… but freaky enough.

So basically same game, just a new team. So instead of axis vs allies, allies vs Vampires.
And thats what makes interesting, while allies have long range weapons… vampires are deadly at close range, can get invisible and so on…
And I surely like the Idea, of a Vampire biting a allies -> allied guy becomes a vampire… but such a bite should take a while…

For the wall climbing vampires >3, just make sure that they can’t fullfill objectives… idk - they are just to small or not strong enough to carry an obj?

With omnibots (hopefully soon 0.7) its even possible to have proper bot support for any complex mod.

I surely love joining this mod team, but I think my ideas ain’t realistic enough - unsure :S …
else I may help with different stuff, wherever you need help the most ; from scripting, ui, coding but not graphics.

And that’s why I want to proceed with the vampire idea.

Another feature:

vampire will be able to walk on walls/ ceilings

Alright, I like your ideas, and to have you in our team.

First things first, we need a seperate forum to work on the project. I still have my good old ‘Programmingandstuff’ board, which I can create a forum on.
