you will find similar stats on most sites. thus you have to accept that pages will be designed for IE first and foremost
I don’t understand why anyone would design a site for 55.67% of the users. There’s no quote button IE though, so I guess this site was designed for that browser either.
Anyone knows if it all works in Lynx? :blah:

You really should upgrade to Firefox.
and i bet that <56% was a hell of a lot higher just 1 year ago (probably >80%, and i wouldnt be surpsied if it was >95% the year before that) .
I for one dont.
I believe strongly that one day FF will take over being the mainstream browser as well as the fact its easier to work with and hence code all my sites round it. Couldnt give a shit about IE users… regardless if most of em wouldnt know the difference.
Couldnt give a shit about IE users
then you’re a horrible webmaster - no offense. not “giving a shit” about the majority of your potential “customers” simply because you disagree with them is the perfect formula for a failed business, heh.
altho i realize you’re not particularly trying to attract visitors with a personal website, but still. checking code against all major browsers just makes sense. i’ve always done it, it’s a hassle but you can take more pride in a site that looks relatively uniform.
that’s my feeling anyhow…
I design my own work for my own spec. I design everything else to the ‘whoever wants it’ spec.
In my work and through general chatting, working with and basically just everyday usage i’ve found FF to be more common to the everyday internet user rather than just an average home user, eg, our parents with no knowledge of using a computer for example. Im happy to work with that… :]
I still bugfix for IE and IE Mac but I do any initial code round FF…
