Voice Packs

(StormforceRecon) #1

Long time lurker, first time poster…

I searched the forums, but didn’t find anything particularly helpful. Does anyone have any form of confirmation reguarding the voice packs and accents? I know there was to be, I think the number was 8? But does anyone have and information about what packs there are? My apologies if this is an exhausted topic or can easily be found in a trailer or interview.
Thanks!

The only thing that I have heard/seen confirmed is the British accent. And yes, there are supposed to be 8 voice packs, apparently.

I’m hoping to have a diverse set of voices; I guess I won’t know what I want to pick until it comes out. As for now though, I want there to be a German accent.

To revive this thread somewhat, since we still don’t have much of an answer (unless I missed it) I’m wondering the following from the community:

If you could have any type of voice pack to use/play with, which would it be?

(DarkangelUK) #5

Well being Scottish… I obviously want Sean Connery… “Enemy shouldiers in our $hites shir”

(SuperWaz) #6

There still may be time to get Mel Gibson to do the voice for you.

I think 8 voice packs is about right (don’t remember where I heard that though).

I’d like to have either an Australian accent or a South African accent.

A true melting pot. Our desire for the Ark’s multi-ethnic makeup was somewhat driven by the 22 different nationalities of the Splash Damage team. This is reflected by the wide variety of ethnicities and accents you’ll come across on the Ark, as well as the various slogans of graffiti splattered around the island.

I would be guessing 22 or so, based on this answer from Paul.

there are 8 different voices, Paul confirmed it in the Hip Hop interview

if any of the S. African dialects make it in the game I’ll cry out in joy

(Nail) #11

start crying, it’s in
there are 8 different voices, Paul confirmed it in the Hip Hop interview
Oh, nice. So we know British and South African are in then.

i just watched the hip hop interview and its hilarious i have no clue how i missed it. i fell out of my adult recreational swing onto the cold floor when that title belt started spinning on Wedgwood’s shoulder

I’d like to see a heavy scottish accent.
…This just sprang an idea for me. Will the heavier body types have deeper voices than if they use the lighter ones?

Also Nail, do you have a link to this interview? I can’t seem to find it.

Almost all links are in the news thread somewhere.

As long as it’s an Australian Australian accent - not a USA film Australian accent
There’s a few Aussies at SD so hopefully they’d sway them to the right tone

David Wenham would have been an awesome choice for an Australian voice actor imo.

as a german, i do have to ask… WHY?

i have been to the states and ireland und luckily brushed of most of it. after that i as a german native have realized that amongst all the possible accents (in the english language) the german language is the most horrifying and unsexy.

WHY?

This is the scottish guy that should do the accent.

Isn’t it confirmed somewhere that a jamaican accent is included?
