iirc, needs .Net

.NET is for wimps, visual c++ is pure, and you should just need the platform SDK

visual studio, you just pay £500 to save the hassle of having to find all packages you need to make your code work

Click click

I used VS2010 to build my StupidQW mod which made perfect sense as the QW SDK comes with a VS solution built in, plus I paid nothing for my copy of VS as the company I work for are MS gold partners

visual c++ is just a small part of the whole visual studio deal…

VS adds up to 2gb of MSDN docs and not very good icon editors etc all built into the main VS application, with all include that are needed on the VS dvd`s + .NET framework and some other worthless frameworks, and not to sure why but you can code webpages instead of using crimson editor

you still can do much with visual c++, and open VS solutions etc, it is exactly the same to use.

and if BT cut your phone off, you can download visual studio using your cellphone taking a whole 2 hrs + platform SDK with the 3g connection
