Guys listen I got enough money to get a merc should I get vissili or red-eye? Pls tell me thanks
Vissili or red-eye?
Vassili:
- Better as a āsniperā than Red-Eye, as he has entirely sniper-based loadouts.
- Heart-beat sensor can target a specific area and show enemies up within range.
- Vassili has 100hp.
- Vassili is more focused on standing still as a classic ācampingā sniper, than anything else.
- Heart-beat sensor is his only ability.
Red-Eye:
- He is NOT a sniper class - more of a long-range marksman (only a third of his loadouts come with an actual sniper rifle - even then, itās the semi-auto).
- Infra-red vision is VERY useful for picking out targets easier.
- Red-Eye has 120hp.
- Red-Eye is more versatile on the battlefield, meaning you will not want to ācampā. Taking advantage of different positions is more key with Red-Eye.
- He also has his smoke grenade, although you only have 1 on an lengthy cool-down, so it requires skillful placement. This can give you the 1-up on enemies when using your IR eye-patch.
Brief summary there for you on both the mercs. They are more different than you might expect. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask here and use ā@Faralethā like that, to tag me, and I will get the notification to reply c:
Depend on your playstyle. Vassili like to pick enemies from afar, being a little too vulnerable in close combat, while Redeye is more of a combat recon rather than a sniper. Also Vassili costs 20k credits less if that is of any importance.
I prefer Vassili myself (especially the FEL-IX, but people will tell you that the MOA is the better rifle), because i really dislike Redeyeās guns.
Since youāre most likely a newer player and considering vassili does take more practice and coordination Iād say Red-eye which is still fairly more efficient and useable in your case and it would give you a small taste of popping heads with his primary similar to vassiliās SR.
With that being said, if it was me⦠Iād go Vassili straight up, once you get consistent pops, its hella fun.

I would like to dispute this and say Vassili is FAR easier to use than Red-Eye. If you play Red-Eye poorly you will quickly find yourself going many lives without a kill. Vassili is more of a bog-standard sniper and is easier to pick up than Red-Eye.
Just my opinion and experience though.
If you prefer normal sniper with throwable spotter then choose Vassili.
If not,choose Red Eye.
Vassili is a merc you should try once heās on free rotation before you buy him. Sniping in a fast-paced game like DB is not easy. If you donāt have the reflexes to snap and get headshots, you wonāt amount to very much with him. He leaves no room for error at all. You either land a kill or you donāt.
Iād go with Red-Eye unless youāre certain youāre a competent sniper. Otherwise youād just be a drag on your team.
Red-Eye is pretty bad. His smoke doesnāt do much in a game this fast - often you just get rushed through it. Iāve yet to see a good Red-Eye, partly because his weapons/utility. He compares pretty closely with Arty, and we rarely see Arty. M14 is a really bad gun - insane recoil and 5 less damage than the PDP, not rly worth it. If you like Dreiss then Arty is probably better.
If you want a Sniper get Vasilli. Red-eye isnāt a Sniper.
Vassili is a sniper, Redeye is a marksman.
If you think you can consistently land headshots or prefer bolt action sniper rifles, Vassili is the better choice. He has a heartbeat sensor which you should throw out whenever you can. He has two bolt action sniper rifles and one semi automatic sniper rifle and his secondaries are machine pistols and a revolver.
Redeye is better suited to medium range than Vassili and is better suited to dealing with objectives because of his smoke. His IR goggles will spot enemies as well. His GSR is a semi automatic sniper without a scope basically, he has a semi automatic sniper (shared with Vassili) and the Dreiss which is a better aggressive weapon than the GSR. His secondaries are only semi automatic pistols.
Personally I like Redeye better because I just like how his playstyle is of being a spotter, reminds me so much of my Bad Company 2 playstyle.
Redeye is my choice for you, for the simple reason that you might actually contribute to your team with him. 99% of people who play Vassili are dead weight to their teams, Redeyes abilities make him more versatile, and thus more useful.
They are both about sniping and battlefield intelligence, but Vas is more about sniping and Red-Eye is more about intelligence. Take your pick!
as a sniper role, all i play is Vasili. Iām comfortable with him and wouldnāt trade it for any other merc although i have never played Red-Eye yet so i cant really compare the two, but just saying i find myself playing Vasili A LOT lmfao
If they donāt know how to play sure. But that also apply if they pick other mercs.
Iām good with sniping but when it comes to vissili and red eye I just donāt know so yeah thanks for your help guys
