[VIDEO] Compilation of Perks that Don't Work

Hey guys,

I made a short video about some augments in Dirty Bomb that don’t seem to work. I didn’t see that much discussion regarding this issue and a lot of these augments just don’t seem to work, so I went ahead and compiled the ones that I knew of into a list and then showed a side by side comparison with some analysis. I hope this gets around to the developers if it hasn’t been addressed already… I feel a little weird posting this because I would think a lot of people would have noticed the perks not working, but hey maybe I’m blind and there’s already a lot of discussion around it. Either way let me know. Our wonderful forum mod Ardez from the DB official forums suggested I post here, so here we go.

The Augments I go over are:
Steady ,Lock On, Chopper (works), Flying Pig, Cool, Mechanic, Nitros (works), Quick Slash (works), Focus

Very interesting, I’m sure the devs will pick this up and fix accordingly… though cmon guys, it should have been tested before implementing :stuck_out_tongue:

Great job; as far as focus:

  • flinching is dependent on the lvl of damage you take, machine pistols don’t do a lot of damage
  • its possible that focus still works, but is just not visible at this lvl of flinching; try a sniper rifle shot!

Otherwise just lol, so many perks still not working…

That makes the lock-on/steady card I bought for in-game credits seem pretty bad!

On the bright side it solidifies DB as not being pay-to-win.

Great video, thanks very much for posting this. I’ve passed it on to QA to make sure we get the issues bugged and hopefully we can fix them fairly soon.

these are bugs, so there is all the expectation in the world that they will be fixed.

and even when fixed, it would still not be p2w

Great video - definitely appreciate the time that went into it.

I knew that ‘Mechanic’ was a load of crap haha. I have that augment on a Sawbonez, and totally expected to be able to repair faster than other non-objective classes, but there was no difference :frowning: The only thing I could have figured was that they had a mechanic augment too, but it seemed unlikely.

Yup, I concur. Good stuff KandyKrew. Your testing methodology was pretty sound as well for each of the augments.

Now if only we can get SD to fix the stupid microphone always sticking on that has been in the game since I’ve been playing.

Thanks to kAndyREW for the demonstration video.

A lot of perks and augments are just not working at all, making a lot of loadouts not as good as they should be. Here’s the list so far :

  • Cool
  • Flying Pig
  • Mechanic
  • Lock On
  • Focus

A lot of people are also saying that Potent Packs does not work on Sparks, due to how her medpacks are working.

This needs a fix quickly.

Personally I would prefer to see Cool/Flying Pig/Try Hard/Mechanic replaced with augments that are useful instead of fixing them.

Some suggestions would have been helpful.

Good point, some brainstorming might produce a few potential replacements, perhaps an augment that slightly reduces spread when moving/jumping, or a perk that slightly increases Rate of Fire.

There are a few perks that are restricted to certain Mercs’ for example “Untrackable” where mines/turrets respond 30% slower which is only available to Vassili and Kira, seeing that perk on other mercs would be useful.

True, given that it was the first thing that came to my head I wouldn’t expect it to be that great of idea, but at least I started with something.
