Actually, most games that claim to require certain drivers for your GFX card don’t, in my limited experience. The Far Cry demo works just fine and dandy (and lovely it looks too) on my current det. drivers (43something I think, not even 45).

Think my drivers are back dating to the 90’s 
- running a 128mb Gf4 Ti 4800 SE and havn’t updated my drivers since I got it. (bout 5/6 months ago) Aint had a problem at all, only thing I ever tend to touch is updating and hax for Direct X.

I never said anything about those that “claim” to need newer drivers :). You said “most”, which acknowledges that some do, so I’m not quite seeing your point, except maybe that it’s always worth giving it a go regardless of what the box says, which I’d definately agree with.
FC mp beta certainly didnt work properly on the 30.82 (or something like) I was using on my GF3, and didnt either with 45.something. IIRC DX2 refused to even attempt to load without a sufficient driver. I gather there’s also some games that will run with older drivers than they specify, but will disable effects that arent compatible - wether thats a loss worth being bothered about is probably personal preference though.
