No difference performance wise here either. I know it’s AMD’s turn now, but I was hoping it’d at least make the game playable. Guess not
VERY poor ATI performances - what's the exact status on this matter?
After this update, instead of an fps of 5-15 frames… now it’s on average 10-15. So a slight improvement; yet still not working at all. Will this issue impacting on quite a few people ever be resolved? :rolleyes:
The last AMD hotfix fixes a lot of performance issues!
http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst115ahotfix.aspx
I can play on Container City with AA, high textures quality, Post processing and shadows with at least 30fps (Brink default config file).
The Ambient Occlusion is the last thing which causes major lags.
I will remove the motion blur and redo some tweaks in the config file to get a little more fluidity but the problem seems fixed.
Includes performance optimizations and resolves various quality issues for the upcoming release of Brink™
Upcoming release? LOL
Oh well, will test tomorrow, really hope they got their stuff together now.
Mmmh I have some teammates which don’t see any improvements. Or worst, they have more lag in specific map locations…
New Hotfix driver is complete bull****,AGAIN!Makes everything worse at least for me.10-17 FPS now.Slideshow deluxe.
Are they to stupid to bring out a hotfix for all their cards? 4xxx series/5xxx/6xxx?
Is it really THAT HARD?
Also Windows performance is WORSE now,and i mean REALLY ****ty.It’s like i would have a singlecore and a Nvidia Riva TNT 2 in my case.So slow its ridiculous.
Going back to 11.2.
If 11.6 don’t fixes bad FPS i’am done with this game.****ing Open GL.Why not using a DirectX engine?Oh that would be to easy!
Still running at 5-15 FPS here; again with all the fancy options turned off / down to low as much as possible.
Looks like I’ll be leaving Brink alone for another week or two until they try and fix it. Again. Damnit. Ah well, at least The Witcher 2 works properly on this PC (and looks darn pretty to boot).
Yep, no improvements here either. Been trying a number of different configs and none make any difference at all. 20 fps max in firefights.
In single-player campaign, I get FPS drops looking at a wall - my gfx card must be chugging to render the hideously detailed cement on ultralow settings…
Avg about 20fps with drops to 10 in single campaign. Online is only a tad better.
I’ve tried 10.12, 11.2, 11.3, 11.5a rc2, 11.5a rc3, 11.5b - all pretty much the same but I settled on 11.2 because its less spiky than the 11.5 drivers. I can’t believe how much time I’ve spent trying to get this game to be playable on MINIMUM SETTINGS.
1920x1200 (tried lower res w/out much fps gain)
C2D @ 2.4
4GB RAM
HD5870
For me the new drivers are worse than the previous best, 10.8
Tower defense run: 124fps -> 103fps
Sectow open area(lowest fps i could find): 45fps -> 42fps
10.8, eh? On what ATI card? I might give them a spin. I got excited about the new drivers but it seems while they fix the performance in a couple of places, they suck just as usual in others.
Then I guess the performance on HD4870 should be even better. Dual core processor I presume? Gonna download them now anyway. Cheers.
Friend of mine can run the game just fine on an 4870 as well, Murka is running things fluently with the same card as me. Grrr

Your CPU is the bare minimum, don’t expect a lot
I was just wondering, what settings do people use in catalyst? Like Cat AI, triple buffering etc.
I’m sorry, but a 5870 w/ the “bare minimum” CPU should still run better than 10f-20fps on minimum settings. How many FPS are highly CPU dependent?
As others have said, much “prettier” / more stressful games run much much much better. This is the most horribly optimized game I’ve ever seen.

He sayed nothing about your gfx card.
He’s talkin about your “CPU” not your "GPU.
GPU=Graphics Processing unit <-gfx card
CPU=Central Processing Unit <-processor
Yes,your CPU is min requirement but the game should run on a C2D.
This game is not a Crysis or something.It’s a mediocre looking shooter with only 8VS8 players.
NOBODY can tell me that a quad is needed for this game,thats a joke.Optimize the damn game!

Guys check out that post I made, and it might fix your ATI card problems!
