Nice piece of work there Chavo!

Just had a quick run in the map, looks nice! Loved the boat trip after grabbing the relic. But when i fell of the boat i couldnt get back up on it from the water.

Great work having 2 objects moving in 1 map. Must have been hell scripting all this.

A few things that caught my eye direclty from start is that “landmines” are pretty much out of the picture in this map. Thats too bad as 2 classes abilitys are not usuable then.

Also the town looks so clean…like it was all built yesterday. All images ive seen from the town of Venice has worn buildings.

And the use of the “Z” space isnt much, would be great to have a few places where u could climb to some sniperspots.

But this is not to be taken as critisism, just wanted to share my first look opinion, the map looks great and i belive it will be played alot. Great work!

after having played the map a bit I am currently uploading it to our public server: 62.4.74.142:27980
have to restart the server for making it available though and i will do that later as the server’s full atm

just in case anybody wants to try it, i will not play it all the time as we have a 6 map rotation but if the ppl like it it will be one of the customs in my custom 3-6 map rotation

good work on that map! at first i didn’t like the bright lighting very much but i guess it suits the scene, for how many players was it planned?

Thanks for hosting it MuffinMan! The map was designed with a 6v6 in mind. But there are enough spawnpoints for a 16v16. I’d be very interested in hearing gameplay comments, but those might be better suited for my forums instead of here.

Fucking good map, all french love it !!!
The gameplay is very good, and the map is so beautiful, i love it i love it !!
I hope Venice will be in official map pack with Fuel, tc_base, GR oasis etc… :smiley: :smiley:

I hope you will not finish your mapper’s work and make an other map as this one, !!! :chef:

i like the modified et sounds. i have a pile of modified ones i’m using for my map, makes it sound more authentic.

love the huge area to fight in, can’t wait to try it out on a server.

i like the sounds too, reminds me of tomb raider. In fact it reminds me so much that i might go and have a quick look at the old girl agian.

It’s good to see more and more map makers set great examples. First it’s Evil Lair’s Nachtinbruch impressed me, then Menzel’s Wacht Am Rein. Now it’s chavo_one’s splendid work.

This map is really a masterpiece for public servers. Vast area span, providing sufficient place to contain many players. Various path design, good artwork, the whole progress is filled with fun.

The only problem that I could found at first glance, is FPS problem… at the beginning plaza, my FPS could drop below 30 (like the dunes scene at early Raiders Beta), hope this could be perfected in official release.

yep very nice map… good gameplay although it would be betetr if you could climb onto the boat when your swimming in the water instead of having to climb the bank then jump on… also theres a little bug when the AT gun is destroyed it shows the message twice.
