Great map, but I wouldn’t agree on the great gameplay…
I think that allies have MUCH greater chances to win.
I’ve played it yesterday 6 on 6 (not much of a team … I know) and allies have won every single round out of six. Not that they have just won it, but they’ve won it in slightly more than 10 minutes. After a few team swaps it came to that the axis team was by all means superrior to the allies, but still allies have won the round, only this time in ~22 minutes.

Maby you should lower the timelimit to 20 minutes and make the water a bit more transparent, so it’ll be harder to swim up the channel and steal the boat without anyone even seeing you. Or you could make it so, that alies could only drive the boat, when someone is on top of it.

The thing about the water could be a bit radical, so first tryplaying it with standard size teams (at least 10 on 10), to see how it works as it is.

Also the lighting/texturing is a bit distractive. It was quite dificult to see an enemy sometimes as their uniforms blend with the background colors.

And I agree with Drakir, mines would suit great in this map, and i’ll miss them :frowning:

well these are just first comments i will have a more thorough look especially at gameplay soon…

water: the water colour is nice but imho it needs a bit more movement, at least a slight ripple-effect as it looks like it’s static. another thing that bothers me a bit is that it looks like it is dirty green but when you dive into it you can see clearly to the other end, a bit of fogging would be great here if possible

sounds: to be honest i don’t like the music, i never did in any map though, it get’s boring after the first times and then annoying… the message allies have stolen the boat sounds funny as “boat” is spoken very fast i guess you concatenated it from several sounds, could need some more lengthening imo

some ppl at our server yesterday said that it’s very difficult for axis to see allies at the first big place - they have very little contrast to the background, seen from the axis side

fences: i didn’t check all of them but it seems as if you didn’t make any railing on them so if you stand on a fence you see it’s only 2d, well probably it was intended like this, i don’t like that however

was the gun intended to fire whenever a soldier stands near to it or when the soldier presses some button? at the moment it fires all the time then, would be great to control it

as said i will search for more stuff and especially real errors later but for the moment that’s about it…

overall i think you did a lot of (good) work, i know what it means to build that many houses and streets and stuff, town maps are so much more work than some base map for example! the use of textures is really good and i like your customs - will test the gameplay with more people soon, maybe when we have our next training ([kLA])

The map looks really nice, but the gameplay is pretty bad imho since it’s totally unbalanced. Axis have absolutely NO chance to defend in any way, we squashed a far superior Axis team in about 20 minutes yesterday and several times before. If you’re lucky you can pin down the tank 3 or 4 minutes on the plaza but after that…
I’ve never seen the Axis win that map, oh stop, I’m lying here, they did once, in a one on one game.
It’s way to easy to spawncamp those narrow corridors the Axis have to exit through after respawning, the tank moves too fast ( add some buildable barriers? ), the path for the Axis to the boat is too long once it’s moved a bit to have any chance to continue defending it.
I know that maps should be biased a little towards the attacking team, but this is (sorry) ridiculous. Maybe it’s great for clan stopwatch matches since it’s over pretty fast, but for public play it plainly isn’t good enough like it is right now.

I see that exactly the same…“that alies could only drive the boat, when someone is on top of it”…it’s more realistic,
because i will fights and no diving-action! :smiley:

Played that map last night, and I have to say VERY NICE work! You even made the canals grungy and I thought the lighting was excellent. Look forward to finding it in the rotation.

We got a chance to play it today with 7 vs 7 and we had a blast. We have a limited lives server (16 lives) and a 10-map campaign (sorry :frowning: , trying to get my clanmates to agree to a change). Anyways, all I want to say is great job on this map Chavo_One, I’m really impressed.

Awsome map!! :clap: Couple people had some good points. It looks to clean like the city was just built. need a ladder or something on the boat to get back aboard. I played it with a full 32 man server and it seemed axis spawn was a little close to the boat when allies broke into the library.

ya if you shortened time limit to 20 minute sor even 15 , it would probabaly play better as you just can’t keep it that long in the first courtyard its very easy for allies to just keep it moving with all the objects to hide behind then when you press forward they spawn and your down :confused:

Not had a chance to play it on a server yet (too busy :frowning: ), but it looks great, and has a fresh look from all the new textures.
Great modelling, and generally a fantastic effort, so top result!
