Various Questions

DB isn’t going to be completely free though, ultimately SD will want encourage people to pay something where as in W:ET you didn’t have that concern. That’s why I picked up on the comparison.

I don’t have a problem with an option to buy the game outright, however, I also don’t see a problem with a F2P model that makes a profit through micro-transactions or something similar, as long as the transactions don’t offer advantages over other players.

True. We’ll have to see what they have planned. I’d imagine something similar to RAD Soldiers or a derivative of it. At the end of the day you’ll still be exposed to motivators to buy otherwise SD will be doing a poor job at getting a return on their investment. I’d prefer not to be exposed to that and the only way I can think of is by having a one off payment. It’s a personal, silly thing, but for me it just feels like someone is constantly putting a donation cup under my nose.

Actually another way would perhaps be to pay a subscription for a year (not sure I’d like monthly) to unlock everything.

maybe
option
1: retailbox =you have everything and more (lifetime)
2: year subscription = full game for one year (no monthly)
3: F2P =all options but only few maps playable

that way everyone will be equal when playing
and devs will be sure to have some revenue for the game
