Since I’ve not written a long time about ET in this forum, this thread will be about different topics.

First right now I experience a bug on map 5 of 6. All ally players were disconnected (illegible message). When I reconnected I lost all my XP, same as all other disconnected ally players. Axis players have not been disconnected and therefore kept their XP. Of course most of the ally players left the game after this. Pisses me really of. What is it? A ET bug? A cheat of a evil player?

Another topic is that in the last weeks ally team hardly wins on a map. I play on Nexus with up to 64 players. Axis seem to be stronger 80% of all matches. I cannot explain it to myself why they win so often. Something is not balanced.

Yet another topic is that I often have to restart ET in order to be able to connect to a server. I often have connecting problems to ET servers. My connection is DSL fastpath. I play some other multiplayer games from time to time. I had never such connection problems with another game. Am I the only one with this problem?

Last but not least I want to tell that I dislike the new homepage design of Splashdamage. In my eyes the previous design was better. This design is just not my taste.

XP will only save its a Shrub or ET Pro 2/3 server with XP Save enabled. Some servers dont enable this so it will be cleared when you reconnect. Map 5 of 6 can be any map depending on the servers campaign or map rotation config/scripts… but im presuming you mean Radar? If it is then it wouldnt suprise me that half of the Allie team left… if it was only yourself who got the message and reconnected to see your Allies empty then its probs because its a bad map, especially for 64 players as the FPS drops is hilarious. The reason you dropped could be anything, what did the Error message say and if it reoccours have a look in your console (`) for any messages.

It is balanced its just the fact that Axis are Defenders normally so have a slightly greater advantage of just sitting back killing and spamming. Eg, They spawn on hills (vantage point) on Fuel Dump to allow them to say get a sniper/mg in place, spam arty and panzers. This can all be ready by the time the first Allie makes it to the bridge.

Set your network settings correctly first if they arent…
rate <15000/25000>
snaps <20 / 40>
cl_maxpackets <com_maxfps value tbh>

Make sure this is at least one 3rd of your ram…
com_hunkmegs <128>

… With 256 being the highest, anything greaters no difference.

If you were playing on an ETPro 3.0.0 server then there is a bug when someone gets lvl4 signals (field op) practically all of his teamates will be kicked - this has been fixed in the latest version or some servers (still 3.0.0 etpro3) cap signals at lvl3 to avoid this

If you play on a 64 player server then I’m not suprised ur seeing an axis bias! - I tend to find that greater numbers (on both sides) will make it easier for defence. Do yourself a favour and join servers with 14-18 slots(max), then you’ll see how it should be played, larger servers are just a trumped up TDM

I didn’t look for an explanation of that bug. Whole ally players have been disconnected and lost their XP after reconnecting. Axis players were not disconnected and kept their XP. If thats no bug, then hell is heaven.

Concerning your advise to change rate, scnaps and all this didn’t help at all. As I said clearly: In no other multiplayer game I had such problems with connecting! So what do you expect me to think if I only have problems connecting to ET games? That it is my fault? Its a bug to me. Or it is not properly configured. But I tried what you said and it didnt work. ET should not require me to configure network settings in order to avoid the problems I mentioned. No other game requires me to do that.

Its good to like ET, but one doesn’t need to defend every bug or bad thing.

Who said that its no bug? Firstly you post vague problems without giving proper information about versions, which makes it hard to help you with your problems. Its important that players with problems post their versions of : What server they were playing on? Wht mod was there running? What Video card drivers are you using etc. without this vital information we can only guess.

Perhaps because the map was not intended for 64 PLAYERS!!! infact ET is not ment for 64PLayers at all!!!

And most of all, 2 guys tried to help you with your problems but you turned into a rude SoB and now you made me pissed. please uninstall ET and go back to your ut2003 games. Thanks!
