Valve using Heat Maps during beta of CS:GO

Are SD using or will be using similar tools in their new game/s?

From a purely selfish point of view I just love those things but surely they make balancing the sorts of maps SD makes a lot easier.

Short answer: Yes.

You might remember the announcement of Fireteam a bit ago, they handle many things like this: http://fireteam.net/press/online-experts-launch-fireteam-ltd-announce-unique-videogame-service

That’s excellent you’re getting such tools as part of the new arrangement. I hope as things progress we can pour over and perhaps even play with a few ourselves.

It’s part of our plan, and the best thing about the new arrangement of things is that we’re in a position where we can react much more quickly to what the community wants, and also keep everybody informed more of our own volition.

As far as I remember there was a non public W:ET heat map mod.

So glad you guys have cast off your shackles.

It was called lithium.

Although I had nothing to do with the project, I did keep a copy of the paper/demo, which is now hard to find:

Also GTV has a really cool system that analyzes ETTV server demos:

Didn’t know of that mod :open_mouth:

However, that looks interesting, never tough that you can do such a thing with SDK… /o\

Thanks for sharing doc.
