I’ll give this a go.
But if it still sucks, I’m cutting my losses.
And no, Bethesda won’t get my money for dlc. You tried with the previous two fallouts. A lot of my gaming frustration has come from Bethesda’s products…hrm…?
Update on Brink DLC, Title Updates, and New Screenshots
Personally I’m not one to really care about it. My sig and avatar says it all.
But if I’m reading b/w the lines here from all the rage posts, they are raging because SD have not been transparent enough with their game. It’s not about the DLC specifically, its a culmination of many things. Things they have stated in interviews have not been accurate, features they have hyped up and then claimed its been left on the chopping room floor, releasing a game that doesnt run on ATI cards well and stating that this game is the spiritual successor of ET. Stating that the game has as much tactical depth as ETQW… releasing videos played on PC with a controller etc
Then you have the game itself…
So you can say while the dlc thing seems rather trivial, for some or even many, its the straw that broke the camels back.
LMAO. Who would ever pay for Brink DLC ever? Its a bot game. Thought I was getting a multiplayer game. Got a bot game.
Also, since that is the PC HUD, I don’t believe those are amounts under the abilities, I believe they’re the buttons they have them set to(the 3 and 4 button).
I don’t understand why UK gamers still can’t purchase BRINK
Thought this was an accidental thing that was going to be fixed quick…
…that was well over a month ago
A lot of you newbcakes still don´t get it. The dlc its free for those who already own a copy of brink and download the DLC in a 2 weeks limit.
That new map in the screenshots visually looks pretty awsome.
And last of all, i honestly doubt that many people that will buy brink in future will buy the DLC, so that might potentialy devide a already small comunity wich sounds like a bad idea.
A lot of Newbcakes should read a post properly!
Not fixing the issues with base game mechanics and then charging new players for a DLC is obviously a bad idea dirrr!
As I said earlier they should be releasing the DLC for free to all current and future Brink owners
or else you end up with BF2 (+ Good business to apologise to your existing customer base who are on the Brink of deserting your brand for ever).
I thought BC2 seemed to do there DLC well it either is implemented into exisitng game seamlessly or is a separate entity (Vietnam) as most of the time it is the pub players who want this stuff and dividing pub play is fail.

hey badman. hope your around here on a sunday.
since there is a lot of justifiable rage about the dlc situation id like to ask a simple question that i think has not been answered yet.
can people who own the dlc play online with players who dont own the dlc?
thanks in advance.
Yes they can play together online. The only time they won’t be able to is if the game switches to a DLC level.
Good to know, i’ll be on holiday for the first 2 weeks of July and as such forced to miss the DLC. Awesome work here gents, way to go to make me give up.

Just realised. Us UK Steam users can’t see the Brink Store page, right? If that’s the case how are we going to find the Brink DLC in order to “purchase” it?
…I’d really hate to think that I won’t be able to get the DLC because the UK Steam problem still hasn’t been fixed yet. =/

Nexo
im still pretty sure all pc dlc is going to be free like it always is and always has been.

gosh. since when is all pc dlc for free?
if you talk about splash damage only, they never released dlc before. when etqw was released the term dlc doesnt even exist. same with oblivion i think. dlc simply doestn exist back then.
bethesda released, i think, 3 dlc packs for fallout3. dont ask about their names, but im pretty sure it was 3.

did too exist i do remeber expansion packs (some where free downloadable) of many games like dungeon siege and dungeon siege legends of arana, two of my fav games.
I don’t know for sure but didn’t Bethesda start this DLC crap with the horse armor for oblivion?
After reading and reading posts for several days on the subject, my position from now on concerning the DLC is that they should, at the very least, give the maps for free and charge for the rest.
I know this wont please everybody to the fullest, but it is really the best compromise between players with different views on DLC and the devs/producers we can ask/hope for. The only other option that would please even more people is to give everything for free, but it’s not going to happen in my opinion, they’ll either sell the DLC or cancel any further development forever, people have to really begin to understand this. If it’s all or nothing, it’ll be nothing, if we ask for a reasonable compromise we might just be able to get it.
