Great that its coming out.
Bad that its in July and free for only 2 weeks.
Unless there is a free weekend, that is really going to stop people buying this.
Update on Brink DLC, Title Updates, and New Screenshots

I think it is free as long as you download it in the first 2 weeks. After that it will not be free, but if you downloaded it in the first 2 weeks, you keep it for free. It is not free for anyone who buys it after these two weeks.
actually the latest patch brought a big performance boost. i run a hd4870 and the lowest i get in sec tower is ~40fps. the other maps dont drop below 50. i have shadows, ambient occlusion and motion blur disabled. antialiasing+16x anisotropic filter on.
i can play this game now properly pretty much all the time.
This guy summed up EXACTLY what I would say. The fact you think anyone is going to buy your DLC on the PC side of things is pretty hilarious. Tell ya what SD, give me your job and I’ll teach you how to do it, deal? I promise to give it back after.

I still cant on a 5770. I get around 20 all the time. It drops when there’s a lot of stuff going on. At this point I don’t even care about the new dlc. It’s already been delays a whole month. If there’s no fix for this when the new dlc comes I’m just going to uninstall this game. I’ve waited long enough already and it feels like the devs aren’t making enough effort with ati to fix this. I wish I could get a refund at this point but oh well.
thats weired. i just read that the 5770 is a rebadged 6770 and they seem to run pretty decent.
The Radeon HD 6770 – which is a rebadged 5770 – averaged a very playable 67fps, as did the GeForce GTX 550 Ti. All graphics cards north of the GTX 550 Ti scored more than 80fps with many cracking triple digits.
Steam Users downloading game and/or patch while away.
If you have access to a computer during the 2week free period, you can buy BRINK on www.steampowered.com. Then its yours! You can download it once you get home. Whenever you get home.
If you already own BRINK and will be gone during the 2-week free period. Then leave your computer on with Steam running. Or ask a friend/family member to turn your computer on during those 2 weeks (make sure Steam automatically starts on Windows boot up). Then the game will download on its own!
This is all less concerning than the PC Stat page, which has not been mentioned at all for some time. I don’t understand how the competitive side of BRINK is supposed to work without a working Stats page.
You Rock! That sounds awesome. The big maps in this game are tops.
thx for the awnser ! and I just see some 10 or maybe more update tonight do you reduce the spread ? I notice a difference maybe in my mind what kind of updates it was ? or maybe a steam cloud fail ?
[edit] I really think the steam cloud fail and it was in my mind ! he dl always the sync file [edit]
and for the update we saw the traditionnal crosshair on the screenshots …
can we expect at least some crosshair custom ? I dream about a golden dot only !
“Get it in first two weeks, otherwise you’ll have to buy it.”
Honestly, where will those buyers come from? There’s so few players already, does Bethesda think people will recommend Brink to their friends with business like this? After that shaky (early?) launch, nurse Brink back to health with goodwill and support. Don’t put the final nail in the coffin for what could have been a good game. Good grief.
Although the first DLC is free for 2 weeks you just know where this is going, paid for DLC’s. Thats it im ****ed off now, of all the things this game needed paid for DLC’s is one of if not the worst thing that you guys could have done to the community.
The money is not the problem so don’t start calling me greedy, the problem is the community and how it is going to be split and fragmented. The game needs support to get people interested in playing not barriers to people playing which the paid for DLC’s are.

This wouldn’t stop me or anyone I know from recommending the game to others. Why’s everyone acting like SD raped their mother’s? They said free DLC to make up for problems at launch. That would mean that it should be free to those who suffered through all the problems. Not to everyone.
You’re still getting your free DLC and they get a paycheck for all their work. Win/Win. I don’t understand what people’s problem is with charging money for a product. Especially considering everyone who has already purchased the game or who purchases it within 2 weeks of the DLC release gets the DLC for free.
In the end for all we know DLC on PC will be totally free forever and they will only charge on 360. That is a pretty common practice after all.
lso, the fact that it’s free for 2 weeks is more than enough time for everyone who isn’t held back by vacations, military service, or other such long-term events to pick up the DLC.
Implying that those of us in military service are less deserving of free DLC than others? How does ‘**** off and die’ sound to you? Reasonable? Lovely, turn to the right and crack on, old son.
I think the DLC having a price after 2 weeks is fair
You’re clearly possessed or on crack. Find a dictionary and look up the word ‘Fair’…then brace yourself, as you’ll realise you’re talking utter bollocks.
I smell Bethesda here, but that doesn’t excuse SD, who need to collectively man-the-****-up.
I am ROYALLY honked off with this, as you may have gathered.
You mean, the deployable medic crate that came with ET:QW is now awesome that they will charge extra for in Brink.
