Thanks for clarifying, it really wasn’t that clear in the initial announcement
Update on Brink DLC, Title Updates, and New Screenshots
So NOT June then? I’m still here because you said JUNE.
And free for 2 weeks…?
You pack of absolute ****ers…I go on exercise for six weeks…starting in JULY. So you’ll be expecting me, having bought Brink on release day and having kept the faith, to PAY for my DLC? I’ve got bad news for you, SD.
I’ll try to arrange something, but if I can’t swing it and miss the deadline, I’ll be done with this game.
For all the posters that advocated patience - yeah, that worked out well for me, didn’t it?
Unlike some, I didn’t feel ripped off on release day…I’ve been PROPERLY mugged-off now, though.
:stroggtapir: - my arse.
Yes! The game that keeps on SCREWING!!! And they are so proud of it!!!

Why? is it to reward loyal fans? pretty ****ty way to do it if you ask me. i Cannot be online for a month, so i am not gonna get it, great ****ing work, live up to your name “bad” man
if there was no console version we wouldn’t have this problem.
if there was no console version the game would be alot better aswell, but oh well.
I almost fully expected the DLC to not arrive until July anyways, the date is no big surprise. Also, the fact that it’s free for 2 weeks is more than enough time for everyone who isn’t held back by vacations, military service, or other such long-term events to pick up the DLC. I personally paid $60 for the game on the first day it was released, and seeing the game drop $10-20 retail in the following months was disappointing, but so long as I don’t need to pay for DLC I am completely okay with it.
I think the DLC having a price after 2 weeks is fair, especially since it is almost without a doubt necessary to get the DLC to be available on the XBOX360 due to Microsoft being money-hungry jerks. Also, as others have said in this very thread, these people working to bring us all these fixes, updates, DLC, etc. need money from their jobs, just as any of us do, so charging a little bit for a DLC isn’t that bad for those employed at SD/Beth. I am just glad they are able to give players like myself that had to deal with the initial launch issues a 2 week period to pick it up for free, as I am sure MS probably tried to make it so that players would have to pay for it 100% of the time.
To further support my last point, just look at TF2. It is completely free now for the PC, but MS had other plans for the TF2 DLC. Valve tried to get the DLC to be free for those playing TF2 on the 360, but MS wouldn’t allow them to give away DLC for free, so now Valve has to lump all the DLC for TF2 together and sell it because of Microsoft’s dumb policy of DLC needing to cost money.
I am just glad Brink isn’t taking the route of games like Call of Duty Black Ops, where there is a new “map pack” every month or so that costs an extra $15-20. By the time MW3 is released later this year at the rate Treyarch is spitting out DLC, to buy the game and play with friends on all the maps, you’ll be spending way over $100 for just 1 video game. Compared to that system, 2 weeks free access + a probably low price tag afterwards for new players doesn’t look quite so bad.
lol, there is nowhere selling this game for 10-20$
oh and you willl have to pay for future dlc (atleast on consoles) microsoft will make sure of that.

I never said it was selling for the price of $10-20 retail now, although I could have been more clear. It has dropped $10-20 in retail price since I bought it, meaning ~$40-50.
Question to any devs rolling through:
How are you going to handle players who don’t have the DLC?
Is all the content going to be made part of a later update, so other players can at least see the Abilities?
Alternatively, are you going to segment the community based on whether users have or don’t have the DLC pack?
Further, will this extend to any future DLC you announce down the line?
Regards,
Nexo

if there was no pc verrsion we wouldnt have whiners like you
if you have a friend with live like jess or whatever, give him your windows live pass. he can download it on his hardrive. then you redeem you password later and you will be able to download it free on your hardrive, it fools microsfts system. or take your hardrive to a friends house with live and downlaod it. AAAND you will be able to download dlc even if you dont have gold, if i do remeber correctly
Just had to say… That’s pretty unlikely since the game’s competitive community is on PC. Just saying…
I’d actually be willing to do that for a handful of people who are military or so on. Just take your credit card info off your account while you’re gone and no one can actually buy stuff with your ID.
If i select download on the xbox live homepage(as you can reserve downloads there) will that work? answa pl0x badman.
Any word this dlc is going to come with a patch to actually let ati cards play this game? 11.6 only made my frame rate worse.
I said in the previous thread, but could you not import your GT to a friends 360 and get it there? Once you have it you have it, you can download as many times as you want.
We would like to thank you for supporting Brink and for your continued feedback. To show our appreciation for your support of Brink, we will be making the first DLC for Brink available for free when it is released. This DLC is planned for June and will offer additional maps and new content for players. We’ll continue to provide announcements about the next title update, as well as the first DLC release as that information becomes available.
They are keeping their promise although it looks like they even had to fight for the two weeks with Bethesda. Thanks, SD.
i said that you silly
better yet take your hardrive to a friends house with live and download it.
Well this game is now dead
The only chance this game had was if they had all PC DLC’s free.
GG SD.
